I recently picked up a non-working Apple Multiple Scan 20 CRT Display at the VCF East! I was told by the previous owner that it had been making a clicking noise, and then let out the magic smoke. So, the first thing I did once I got it home was take it apart to inspect the damage. The fuse hadn't blown, but one of the capacitors on the power supply board had a split/cracked vent. I desoldered all the caps on the board, except for the large 400 volt 560 μF capacitor on the opposite side of the board connectors. I made a list of the capacitors I was going to replace on DigiKey, which you can find here. So, I am waiting for the replacements to arrive, and I will update when they do!
