Hello wonderful brains of Tinker Different,
I'm restoring an SE/30 that was languishing in a friend's basement for many years. Luckily, the battery hadn't exploded yet, but there was some apparent electrolyte leakage from the old SMT caps (nothing as bad as some pictures I've seen, but still notable).
So far I've swapped in a CR2032 and recapped the board as a preventative measure, as well as cleaning the area around the Ux8 chips with deoxit and IPA. I've attempted reflowing some of the solder on the chips in positions UD8 and UE8, which seem the most suspect, to no avail. It seems like replacing the F253 in UD8 and LS166 in UE8 might be the next move, but does anyone here have any other tips for cleaning things up / effectively reflowing the chips on-board? Do any of the traces pictured here look particularly suspect? If I do have to end up replacing those ICs, does anyone have a recommendation for a good guide on doing so?
(I've included a picture of the F258s near the battery for completeness' sake, but they seem to be in good shape to me)
