Snazzy Weather - a snazzier weather app for classic Mac OS

Hey what's up, I uploaded a proof of concept type of version of my new Classic Mac OS app SNAZZY WEATHER to my website. Just gets super basic weather info from today and tomorrow and displays it with a background I felt was befitting the graphic design sensibilities of the before-times. Take a look, and if you try it out let me know if it actually runs on anyone else's system!

Made with the venerable REALbasic on my dear PowerBook Pismo.

Almost forgot to mention - I included my server script on my website project page for this app so that if you have the means to run a script on a server that your old Mac can connect to somehow, you can get your own location data now.

Don't think of it as "lazy programming" by me not adding a location select in the app itself - think of it as a learning opportunity for now XD

If anyone has good ideas on how to implement a location select feature within the app (I'm using REALbasic), let me know...

It crashes on launch in OS 7.5.5 with the Basilisk II emulator and doesn't display properly in OS 9.2.2 with SheepShaver.



BTW, were you aware of Weatherbot, which came out fairly recently and does something similar?

Thanks for trying it! I have no idea what to do about that since I've never used OS 7-9 emulators, I hear they can be pretty fickle. If you have any ideas on what could be done to resolve that, I'm all ears. I wonder if other REALbasic apps have that issue?

I have seen weatherbot! I just felt like making something and a weather app sounded like a fun project.
