Unexpected Mac IICI with battery damage

Just wanted to show off this Mac IICI I got today. My friend gave it to me as he has a working one I helped him fix and didn't have room to keep it for parts. It's yellowed, the PSU is untested and the motherboard has some ugly battery damage. The plan is to test it tomorrow and see what it does... Outside 🤣

It may function, even with the battery damage. That said, it's almost guaranteed that there will be no Nubus slot usage... C16 looks to have puked its guts all over UH1, which is what interfaces the Nubus slots to the rest of the board.

My old IIci's original board. Recapped it, replaced the chip, and the board still didn't recognize any installed cards. The upper right pin is a ground, and suspicion was that the trace had become rotten. I wound up replacing the board with another one that had known working slots.

Wow, good info for sure. I didn't even look that far beyond a superficial glance. I was more concerned with the battery area. I'll keep that in mind as I work through it, I'm hoping for basic operation before I turn to anything else. The friend who gave me this has a nubus video card that is having issues, I'll make sure to let him know about UH1 too, he might have a problem there.

Sure, no problem. Yeah, have him check that area for cap goo. The good news is that the 74ALS240 chips are still available on the 'bay, so it is possible to replace them with new chips.
