The boom is spring loaded and holds the weight up well, even after 20+ years of use.

Neatly tucked away, I think. It came with a 5-speed fan box that I need to build some sort of housing for, as well as some replaceable filters I'll have to figure out. The fan is pretty quiet on the 3-4 lowest speeds, and it seems to have good enough air flow at those speeds. More will follow.
