Hello,

I have a few iBook G4 1.2GHz and 1.33GHz that will boot and run fine on an external display. However the laptop screen itself is just white. I have replaced both the LCD (known good) and LVDS cable (known good) with no change in results. I tested every line in the LVDS cable for continuity and nothing shorted or open. I have reset OF NVRAM, PMU reset, and everything else I can think of. I don't subscribe to the idea of a "dead motherboard" when it runs fine on an external. What on the motherboard is dead? Of course no schematics available. 3 chips under the cooler are the CPU, some big rando chip, and the GPU.

I have not tried to reflow anything yet, but I don't know if that will help or hinder it. Has anyone experienced this and have a fix for it?
