Right off the bat, my adapter is malfunctioning.
When I switch my Carrera 040 to F mode,
the screen remains gray except for the Finder menu.
It still worked in M mode, but now it no longer works in M mode either. The SE30 works fine in S mode.
I've reinstalled System 7.1 several times, but the problem persists. Has anyone else had the same issue?
I'm wondering whether sending it to Germany and having it checked for symptoms is the best way to do this.
I'd appreciate your feedback if you read this.
I suspected a problem with my Carrera 040 and replaced it with my old DayStar adapter.
The S, M, and F modes switched properly, and the benchmark software ran, so I knew the Carrera 040 was still working. Of course, the screen is terrible, with a grid pattern.

Finally added an eMac to my collection... time to model and build miniatures at 48 (not printed yet) and 22 percent (photo side by side).

Old speakers from an old 2006-2008 iMac will work great for the 48 percent size. Experimenting with speaker grille hole sizes.

I saw your post about your PC Chips M326 motherboard. I have one of these that I don't need anymore. It worked fine when I used it about a year and a half ago. It's a v5.3 revision. The AMD 386-40 is soldered onto the motherboard and I have an IIT 387 math coprocessor installed. The Varta battery was removed. There is a 132-pin socket, but I was unable to get 486DLC working in it. Asking price is $50 plus shipping if you are interested.

Discovered modern software for connecting AFP shared directories -- Apple Share IP Browser.
This allows you to connect, for example, from System Software 7.0.1 on Quarda 950 to the general AFP catalog on Netatalk.

More prep. I have 3 iBook G3 500Mhz 12" semi-working status. Hopefully I can get at least two fully working.

Disassembling all three at once, to make it easier.

I should really have a magnetic tray for all these screws.

So, just wondering if anyone has some tips for neutralizing this aluminum oxidization... Looks like this thing was down with the Titanic.

I don't even know how this was even running with all that corrosion dust inside.

I stripped it to the frame, then hit it with a poly brush on a drill.

Got most of the dust off.


Then I had to deal with the the trackpad socket that was pulled off. Luckily it was still inside the unit.

And I was able to get it soldered back on. Forgive the crappy focus on my phone camera.
