Again, I'm comparing the Roland SC-88ST Sound Canvas against the Kawai XC-3 GMega LX, running a pretty spiffy midi probably dating from the 90's (the info inside the .mid file tells of a geocities website). I've discored that group (Casiopea) last year and their style meets the olden midi synth modules very neatly since they were heavy on synth usage anyway!
It's hard to prefer the Kawai again, especially in the tom tom part where it takes way too much presence compared to other instruments. The bass sounds EXCELLENT in both versions. Apart from the tom tom issue, both midi modules have their lovable quirks.
