What is this?

I'm looking for information as to what this is. The "all-knowing" Google is stumped.

This is part of the LCD circuitry for my Zenith SuperSlim 286 laptop. That's all that I can figure. The reason why I want to even mess with it is due to the corrosion on the underside of the motherboard on the pins of this part. It does have VGA onboard, so if I can't replace it, I'll look into trying to replace the LCD altogether. Just trying for the cheapest option first.

That's what's known as a hybrid module. Usually a collection of discrete parts, occasionally with some simple logic, on a tiny board, thats then coated with epoxy and turned into a throughhole part. In this instance it could be anything - i cannot find a datasheet for the part.
