New uses for old MessagePads

Have been experimenting with ideas on possible modern things to use the Newton for. Created a concept album cover drawn on the MessagePad 130 with NewtPaint then captured with an iPhone, manipulated with Glitch and Snapseed and this is the outcome. Direct from Newton before and after results.

Thought it would be fun to share the results here and the possibility of doing new things with these old devices creatively.

Yeah, just playing around and nothing more. Will probably try to create some more art pieces in general that aren't targeted at being a faux album though, it's fun!

Nicely done. Have you tried exporting bitmap screenshot directly from the Newton instead of using the camera?

I’ve exported images from the Newton to my 1400c but since they’re so small and the camera captures such a large image it works well.

That makes sense.

You could also up-res the screenshots using nearest neighbour resampling in Photoshop (or similar) to keep the sharp-edged bitmappiness.
