Hey all, I’ve got a ton of Mac’s I’m trying to find new homes for (probably 30-40). Almost all work, but I have been selling them one at a time here in my local area but it’s slow going.
I’m toying with the idea of loading them all up on my car and doing the System Source swap meet this upcoming weekend. However, it would be a long drive and I would hate to go all that way and only sell a small number of the computers. What is the event like? Turnout? Mac enthusiasts?

I’d really like to get my workshop back and doing a large sale at a swap meet would seem to be a great way to do it, but unfortunately the VCF SE doesn’t do a swap meet so the one at System Source is my best bet.

if anyone is interested in the machines I have available, feel free to check out https://shop.inventorydifferent.com

I produced a video on this event (the one back in May), should give a good idea of what it's like. I probably won't be at this one though unfortunately.

Ha, I actually watched your video but for some reason I thought I was for the other swap meet. Looks like a very cool event, but given how many machines System Source seems to be selling, I don't know how many people would be interested in my machines. While my machines are all recapped, verified working, I suspect most of the people showing up are looking for really cheap machines they can fix up themselves.

Also, I'd be dangerously likely to end up buying a bunch more machines which defeats the purpose of me trying to scale down my collection.

I may see about doing consignment at VCF SouthEast next year. Maybe I could set up a booth for some of my creations...

Yes, there is quite a bit of temptation with the volume of stuff they have. Might be worth your time IMO if you're close and can make the trip, but there is a looooot of stuff for very little money.

I'd love to attend VCF NE or SE some day but unfortunately (being in VA) it's a many hour drive to either one of them.

Yeah, if it were closer, I'd definitely come, but I'm down in South Carolina. And if I went with a car full of computers to sell, and returned with a car full of new computers to fix, my wife would be unhappy, as would I.
