FIXED. Embarrassing, but I gave the board a bath in IPA and that seemed to do the trick. Thanks for your help!

I should have said, my temps are indeed Fahrenheit.

IC 251 = 100 degrees IC 151 = 112 R 255 = 90 R 152 = 85 (found another)

The unit was closed up with the clip and gray heat pad in place as if it was ready to go back onto the analog board. When I discovered my mistake, don't believe it was hot, but just a bit warm and definitely an "electrical smell". Not super strong, but definitely present. I did leave it alone...

I stayed up late recapping the PSU because I was on a roll. I tested it and got good voltage. But accidentally left it on overnight with no load. D'oh! Now the voltages are low and all wrong. I pulled off and tested five of the new capacitors but found them to be still normal. Replacing...

I just recapped my Sony C44 and I'm getting the pin 6 = -8v as well. Did you ever get to the bottom of that? (measured with no load).

I have used both when recapping my vintage Macs. Is there a reason I shouldn't use tantalums to replace electrolytics? I like the idea of doing a permanent fix and not having to worry about leakage in another 10-15 years. But are there pitfalls to tantalums I should be aware of?

I have a Performa 6400/200. I'd like to create an image from the hard disk that I can boot from in Sheepshaver on a modern Mac. How would you guys go about this? as for tools, I have a blue scsi and BMOW Floppy emu as well as other vintage Macs. Thanks in advance!

Hi all! I recently acquired a Macintosh TV. Everything so far works fine except sound. No chime on boot-up, and no sound when running. Except after about five minutes of running, the speakers will crackle intermittently. Please tell me this is a common issue with a simple solution. Thanks!
