I think the white stripe means it’s a fusible resistor (designed to fail open). If so you should replace with another fusible resistor. Get a second opinion though.

Also watch out for physical size. Smaller than original is fine, but make sure the lead spacing is the same. Sometimes you can make other lead spacings work, but it's just easier and tidier to use something that fits.

Years ago I made one out of a cheap old Verifone power adapter I found on eBay and fitted it with a female barrel connector to fit the studio display's cable. A pretty easy and cheap replacement versus trying to find an original adapter. It worked out great.

For reference here are the locations of R73/R79, R61, and R52 on the MessagePad 120 MLB. I realized I had replaced them with 4.7Ohm resistors so swapped them again with 4.7kOhm resistors but the device is still no power.

Yeah I got caught up on the power switch too but was able just to push it in a bit with my finger to get it to let go. That's the easy part. The rest is a puzzle. Though I got it all apart and back together, I'm not sure what the best order of take apart is. Whatever it is, is not what I did lol

No but you should be able to work backwards by measuring the hole the 'pin' goes through and the enclosure parts where it rests. Good luck!

You're missing the plunger that pushes in the switch

Sorry thought it was in service source but it’s not. Here’s the part.

Multimeter in continuity mode. No beep = blown fuse. But I doubt that's your issue. Just replied to your thread.

Did you install the little plunger back correctly? That pushes a switch to turn the screen on when it's opened. If it's not there, you'd get a symptom like you described. Check the eMate Service Source manual to see the bit I'm talking about.

Ah I wasn't seeing it due to content blockers. Perhaps consider how that's rendering in case it might not be seen by most folks with content blockers on. Thanks!
