Thank you for the pictures! To me it shows, that the cable is B- Type with the pins inverted. The blue stripe is in both connectors pointing to the top, but since the connector of the control board is upside- down, relative to the cable the contacts are opposite. Please tell me if I see it...

It`s the rear cover of the unit. By no means should the aera of the film guide get into contact with grease of any kind. Tis includes the transport hook. At the bottom of the mechanic, between the two solid metal plates you see a slot on the side and I think there is a second slot on the top...

Hacking the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (New Thread)

Thank you for your contribution to improve the Kodak Reels! I just finished the lowering of the standard lens and at the right corner the machine says "Res 1264x948" The most delicate work was the cabling. The ones of the fan broke off and I soldered them back on, because the conector is so...

Hacking the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (New Thread)

Average bitrate of the scan is 33000 kBit/sec. The enclosed sample scan is stored in HD- Format with a bitrate of 19000kBit/sec. It has been created with Vegas pro 20 with "Neat Video" plug- in, using noise reduction amount of 15%. For my filmtransfers Neat Video is an essential tool. -> HD-...

Hacking the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (New Thread)

By the way: I use Qp of 16 and it works fine. Sometimes it stops after an unpredictable number of frames. Can be as high as 17`000. Update on 8 of January 2026: Meanwhile I established a Qp of 22. With this setting the scanner goes through large Reels without stopping.
