SE/30 won't boot from internal SCSI

I am on the road so can’t check the pin numbers but yes, I placed a 470 ohm resistor across REQ and TERMPOWER, and also two caps, a 2.2uF and a 0.1uF across TERMPOWER and ground. But in my case just the resistor helped. I am still going to debug further and try swapping scsi chips etc. But...

SE/30 won't boot from internal SCSI

@CaseyAC, I recently picked up a second SE/30 and unlike my first one, this second one seems to be experiencing the same problem you are reporting (although note that I'm using a ZuluSCSI whereas you are using a BlueSCSI). I was able to run through a bunch of debugging steps and narrow down the...

68040 CPU & Heatsink CLIP for Color Classic Mystic (LC575 Motherboard)

For mine, I put a thin border of thermal tape (2mm wide) around the edges and then had thermal paste in the middle.

    Just destroyed my SE/30

Oh and as Phipli mentioned, if you installed them backwards, you probably should get new ones and not reuse the ones that were reversed.

    Just destroyed my SE/30

Console5 usually includes a little business card with their capacitor kits where they explicitly warn about getting the polarity reversed with tantalums. The card has diagrams of electrolytic caps vs tantalums.

    Just destroyed my SE/30

And also ensure whatever kit you bought included 25V rated tantalums for the capacitors that will get 12V. There are a few of them. Most kits should have been updated by now but I only saw kits updating to 25V in the past year or two so you never know. It shouldn’t have caused your issue but...

    Hmm strange.

SE/30 won't boot from internal SCSI

Where is the bluescsi getting its power from? is it just relying on termination power (ie. via the scsi connection) or do you have it powered using an internal +5V source like a 4pin molex connector? Just to help rule things out, can you leave the bluescsi connected to the internal scsi...

AppleColor RGB Monitor height adjustment tool

I made the model that’s closer to the original and had posted it on 68Kmla (as @AlexMac mentioned). Also posted it to printables, link in my signature.

Zip SCSI weirdness on an LC II

A standard db25 scsi cable or straight through cable should work. Parallel/printer cables will not as it’s usually missing some wiring. Also check to ensure no internal drives are using 5 or 6 for the scsi ID (whichever one you have the Zip drive set to). A conflict usually causes your symptoms...
