Color LCD Retrofit Kit for SE/30 by ZigZagJoe

I love mine as well. Works really well and the LCD panel that @zigzagjoe selected is a gem.

    MacTable (V2) Restoration

I was going to ask if this was the one on sale in San Francisco a few months back on Craigslist. I was tempted but the listing was gone before I could act on it.

    SE/30 RTC issues

An SE/30 with SCC chip issues or problems on the serial circuit will fail to boot under System 7.x whereas it works fine under System 6. There’s apparently some checks that System 7 does during the boot process which will cause a hang. I hit this while fixing one of my SE/30s. I had a post on...

Floppy drive Sony MP-F51W-23 upper head doesn't touch the disk

FWIW, four battery bombed IIci/IIcx boards sold on eBay in the past month for around $15-$25 each so certainly a good way to harvest the Apple proprietary chips.

Radius Full Page Display for Macintosh 512ke/Plus - Cloning project possibilities?

I just found a newer thread regarding display rotation and the RGBtoHDMI project. https://github.com/hoglet67/RGBtoHDMI/issues/412 Might be a solution to provide both rotation and crop? If not, I would think that modifying that code base would be the fastest path to getting something working...

Floppy drive Sony MP-F51W-23 upper head doesn't touch the disk

I think the SE/30, IIci, IIcx, IIsi, all used variants of or the same Apple 344S0061 swim chip?

Radius Full Page Display for Macintosh 512ke/Plus - Cloning project possibilities?

Ah got it. Based on the name I thought you meant scaling it to fill. Cool!

Radius Full Page Display for Macintosh 512ke/Plus - Cloning project possibilities?

Plenty of 15” 1024x768 panels. But at that resolution, do you really need a scaler? Why not 1:1 with cropping?

Floppy drive Sony MP-F51W-23 upper head doesn't touch the disk

Not sure how you have been searching for a replacement SWIM chip, but if looking specifically for a donor from an SE/30, that could get pricey or be hard to find. It was my impression that a compatible SWIM chip can be obtained from a IIci or IIcx motherboard, and those logic boards are much...

Radius Full Page Display for Macintosh 512ke/Plus - Cloning project possibilities?

Bare panels. They are a little small though, 10”. https://www.ebay.com/itm/186309451332 https://www.ebay.com/itm/388527102866 These seem to be native vertical but not 100% sure. This next one seems to support built in rotation. https://www.ebay.com/itm/255765656616...

Radius Full Page Display for Macintosh 512ke/Plus - Cloning project possibilities?

I might have searched for the wrong thing, there are some panels that are native portrait mode, for example saw one at 800x1280.

Radius Full Page Display for Macintosh 512ke/Plus - Cloning project possibilities?

I was thinking 1024x768 which would fit the 640x870 resolution well at 1:1 when rotated, with crop bars (77 pixels on each side and 64 pixels top and bottom) without scaling and cover up the crop bars with a bezel. 1280x1024 would need scaling or have huge crop bars. I had looked for panels...

Radius Full Page Display for Macintosh 512ke/Plus - Cloning project possibilities?

Interested in what you figure out. I have been unable to find a reasonable portrait display and card for my stock SE, whether due to brokenness or asking price. I was hoping to hack my own solution using a rotated LCD and a RGBtoHDMI, using black crop bars and a custom 3d printed bezel, but...

    Mac SE/30 bad condition

Looks like the GLUE chip is going to be dead at minimum. +1 to what the others said. There are still salvageable chips on that board so there is still some value. You can make it a fun project if you want to learn and have patience or sell it for parts. Exactly what the others said. Clean it...
