To produce textured cases to match the original it would require another mold ($70k+) because these molds are a special material and diamond (mirror finish) polish which was $15k more. To add texture would be to remove that and not be able to go back.

So far about 160 actual cases are backed so the production order will be 200 units. I suspect about 20 cases or so will be available for sale after the Kickstarter (at the higher regular price) but I don’t suspect they will stick around too long.

I suspect it is the same as the Apple II which was PMS 453. They have all yellowed a lot since then so it's hard to know with any level of certainty.

Do you know if those control boards do additional I/O for optical drive, HDD, speakers, fans, etc? That was something I struggled with when looking for a solution all the Aliexpress ones didn't have the same features, though they were certainly cheaper.

Yeah their stuff is a bit of a premium. I think part of that is the cost to develop all the specialized I/O to control extra stuff as if it were a native machine. The 27" iMac version is cool because so many had GPU issues so at least its a way to save the rest of the machine from recycling...

I believe Juicy Crumb is nearly complete with an entire kit that's plug and play, assuming you wanted to wait a few months. Otherwise, I'm not sure of an easier version.
