Love this one:

My coffee table is half inch clear Plexi atop 840AV-n-8500 cases. Or is that a bench? Love it! (y)
I did this IRL as well (no I did not take a picture LOL derp). It worked really well except you have to worry about squishing the feet as I am 6'4" 280 pounds which those are not really designed to support I dont think LOL. I also tend to land pretty hard on chairs being taller. I fixed this by just sitting the PMs (what I used) on left over pieces of 2x6 planks of wood the length of the PMs so the feet were ever so slightly off the ground. Hmm, I should build a new real one with nice finished woods and some sort of rolling-foot solution. That would be a fun project :)

OR, this is an excuse to start inhaling unwanted PMG5s and cMPs to build the COOLEST retro computer collection shelf EVER!!

@wottle this app looks really cool. Great work. excited to give it a try. :)

Yeah, it was largely decorative so didn’t have to worry about the weight / impact of sitting down on it all the time, but I suspect a proper thickness board between the leg and the case would keep it from bucking.

As for the shelving, I considered stacking to make my shelving out of it, but that would be a massive, and heavy setup. Also, I’ve never been able to find a cheap source for the G5’s, so it could get very expensive for me.

I am just getting started, and have no plan yet. But will look over what folks are doing and figure out what works for me. Too complicated and I won't use it. To easy and disposable and I will lose it. So will figure out something relatively simple that will work across most all my machines that will do the job.

Yeah, I've considered just running mine as a service and offering account and segmenting every user's information, but there's simply too much of a challenge with storing images for users. First, there's the storage costs - My collection of 290 devices is using ~4GB of storage. My NAS couldn't handle too many users. Second, I don't want to be responsible for backups and resiliency of users data. A hack or bug deletes all the data... Finally, I don't want to deal with the legal liability if someone stores phots of illegal things on my server. However, I may still add multiple account support so others could consolidate the server setup if they wanted for groups of people.

But I also understand not everyone has docker / command line experience. However, my goal is to offer a simple setup for people with a NAS or other docker solution to have the system set up in less than 10 minutes. A bit longer if you want to add some of the optional features, it would require more work to set up API keys for some of the services that require integrations with other platforms.
