Great info! This can give a great quick way to test out a motherboard without the need of the Mac itself. Looking forward to building one.
It would be great if this article could be expended to include more info on the end to end solution, including the type of power supply needed (ex. power rating, examples), as well as the pin connectivity from this the RGBtoHDMI interface
