Macintosh SE - PLCC ADB Adapter board

There's not much to it, PCB looks like this: And it looks like this when soldered onto a slightly grubby blue IIcx Reloaded board (Ignore the bodge wires - those are errors in the Rev 1.0 IIcx reloaded board not the adapter): Gimme a minuite and i'll get the board files uploaded to github...

Oooh thanks for reminding me, I need to post that board on GitHub!

Reverse Engineering the Macintosh LC III Logicboard

A quick note for anyone who might have had one of these boards made: I have discovered a error in the layout which stops accelerator cards form working in these boards (And possibly PDS cards that try to do DMA), there is a resistor on /BR of the onboard CPU that should be a pull down but is...

Macintosh SE - PLCC ADB Adapter board

The PIC16F87 / PIC16F88 with @Tashtari's conversion of the ADB code is a drop in replacement, no adapters needed The 342S0400-B will work with a adapter though it may be cheaper to get a PIC if you have something around that can program it

Breaking the 36MB RAM limit on the LCIII

    unfortunately not yet

Breaking the 36MB RAM limit on the LCIII

This is something I have actually considered doing, it should work as long as the timings for the RAS and address signals line up (Which logically they should) you'l need to invert the RAS signals for A11 as RAS is active low adn address lineas are active high In short, it's defiantly worth a go!

    Finally found a IIci......still looking

The IIci is already on the reloaded radar, i'll get to it eventually if someone else doesn't beat me to it. Just need to finish off the TechStep clone, Mac 286 clone, some accelerator related shenanigans and maybe the LC475 first :)

Breaking the 36MB RAM limit on the LCIII

Would be very intresting to see one of those SIMMS and try to figure out what it's doing, I haven't ever seen one for sale though

Breaking the 36MB RAM limit on the LCIII

Well the boards work, I was going to assemble and sell a couple but my cheap source of DRAM IC's fell through and the next cheapest source is about £1 a chip so with 32 chips and assembly I would probably have to sell tham at £60-£70 each which I suspect is more than anyone would pay.... Really...

    Recreateing the Apple TechStep

yep indeed as @jajan547 says they will work fine however there are a couple of considerations - We are using backlit modules which are a little thicker than the original one, I also haven't seen a module with the exact layout of mounting holes and most modern modules have a different connector...

    Recreateing the Apple TechStep

And a little update (As I realise I haven't posted a update here on the hardware for a while...) Logicboard has now been fully reverse engineered to a schematic and we have found compatible replacements for the LCD module, currently working on prototyping the switchable ROM "pack" and a couple...

Macintosh Classic CAS PAL / ROM Replicas

Classics need a 27C400 which you need a adapter to be able to program in most modern programmers, if you get stuck let me know as I have the chips and programmer to make them if needed Actually thinking about it I might have a spare CAS PAL too.... If no one else jumps in I'll have a look...

Macintosh Classic CAS PAL / ROM Replicas

As far as I am aware no one has yet cracked that PAL so it's a salvage it form another board part unfortunately Maybe @Bolle can use his expertise to recreate it?

    Interware SE/30 accelerator

I just brought a 33mhz IIvi card off someone at 68k (and was also bidding on a 40Mhz IIci card on ebay but I lost that one by $2.50...) Haven't received it yet though so will need some FI into it's cloneabality and suitability for modification once I get it

How much of the 128K/512K hardware has been reverse engineered?

Not yet, well I started the LCIII and got about 2/3 of the way through the schematic then got lost down the "ooh there's two extra RAS signals" rabbit hole :)

How much of the 128K/512K hardware has been reverse engineered?

It should work just fine in a 128-512k board as it's literally just the original Rom-inator design basked onto a plus logicboard (and thus could be baked into any other board the original design supported) Not quite yet, I only got the boards in January so you can't expect me to finish them...

Breaking the 36MB RAM limit on the LCIII

Plan....... um yes, I deffinatly have one of those! The good news is a plan is not needed, the SIMM fits just fine with some room to spare :)
