So after reading your post. i started to look at that mac lot in NM. (pick up only) and in the related items section i found a AST upgrade module. it was just weird that i wasn't LOOKIng for Lisa/ mac xl things on ebay. but it just randomly show up after reading your post.

I don't even know if ADB NeXT mice are easier to find then the mac Black mice. I've just seen pictures where people were using a NeXT mouse with their black Macs.

I also second the idea of doing on thing at a time and testing it out. And, if one were to do that, it would be handy to have the cable that goes from the analog board to the logic board to be longer. ... and with an SE you have such a solution.

Thats kinda interesting you have a 030 upgrace for a macplus. I have a mac plus with a brainstorm upgrade. which is just a fast 68000. i found it to be unstable. (i think maybe i have other problems with the logic board that may or may not be related to the upgrade) How is yours performing...
