    From what I recall, the 2400/240 model officially supported CardBus, and considering that the machine has its CPU on a daughtercard, I'd be *really* surprised if Apple bothered to redesign the motherboard just for that feature.     2.5" -> 3.5" SCSI adapter

    The adapter provides power to the 2.5" drive, and does indeed "move" the SCSI ID jumpers to the adapter's PCB. Here's a shot of the adapter connected to a drive; the SCSI jumpers are on the right and the power input is on the left.

    I know that SE/30s can be *very* picky about RAM. I had a similar problem with mine, and was only able to resolve it through a lot of experimenting with different RAM combinations. The ideal scenario is to have all 8 slots populated with identical modules.
