Cleaning the power contacts inside the sub supposedly fixes the buzz for a while, but then it comes back. I dunno that replacing the caps would fix it considering this problem happened when the TAM was brand new (unless you're replacing a cap with a different value?).

Couple of things -- I wasn't sure from the other thread if you were planning to use an external power supply for one of the cards. I'd be worried about pushing the TAM power supply (located in the subwoofer module) too far by installing so many cards, since it wasn't designed for this much power...

I have to agree. I ruined a Mac case using this method. Came out marbled. Submersive method seems to work better. Also, don't forget to remove your rainbow apple logo before retrobrighting, or it can come out "pastel" when finished.

The piSCSI superbenk mentions is nice because it also works as an SD card to SCSI hard disk. If your Mac has an ethernet port, you can always use an ethernet bridge. I've had success with this one, though you'll need USB power or compatible DC power adapter for it...

Have you tried one of the SD Card or CF Card to ATA adapters instead? Considering the age of the machine, I doubt using an actual SSD will seem much faster. Also is there anything plugged into the PCI slot?
