    BlueSCSI v2 multi boot?

The possibility of installing multiple operating systems is already enabled by BlueSCSI. However, the Macintosh has no boot loader in the way that GRUB or LILO or UEFI works. You can set which OS to load on next boot from the Startup Disk control panel, or use System Switcher which does the same.

Running NetWare on the 6100 (and Apple Network Server)

Oh wow! Love these writeups of things that could very well have been lost to history. This opens up a whole new world of retro shenanigans as well!

Finally found a SE/30. Upgrade Time!

Yep, pretty much obligatory. See https://recapamac.com.au/macintosh-se-30/ for guidance, and https://console5.com/store/computer-cap-kits/mac-68k-cap-kits/se-30.html for ready-made kits with what you need These are pretty rare and expensive. I'd ask why you feel you need one? What are you going...

    Software for Sonnet Crescendo 604e?

These PDS accelerators are a bit more involved than the 7x00-series, since here we're not actually replacing the CPU - we're adding an additional one. That requires special software trickery to make the OS switch to that CPU during boot.

    Software for Sonnet Crescendo 604e?

Had another go at the Wayback Machine, and was able to find a copy version 1.2.4 which works! I've uploaded it to the Garden along with some information. Documenting here too, so that others might struggle less than I did.

    Software for Sonnet Crescendo 604e?

Greetings all! Buried in a 7100 I ran across this thing: After some research, it turns out this is a Sonnet 604e processor upgrade for the x100 series PDS slot. I now have it mounted in my 8100, and it didn't blow up! Unfortunately it's not working either. I might be mistaken, but from what...

    How to identify G4 CPUs?

Since I don't know all that much about PPC past 601 a question popped up while rummaging through parts bins: What's the best way to identify what "generation" G4 CPU daughtercard one has? Hopefully this thread can be turned into a valuable resource for anyone with the same question. And what...

New website homepage - feedback would be appreciated!

The colored background is really glaring and makes things hard to read. Find a suitable contrast color instead.

    6100/G3/HPV Turbo Cooler Hack

Just noting that I love that you went back to this idea. And that I'm following it very closely as I have a 6100, a NuBus G3 upgrade, and a HPV card looking for the exact treatment down the road, so it'll be interesting to see how you do.

SE/30 Reloaded - Lets build it!

We discussed those resistor packs briefly on the Discord the other day. The issue is that they have been replaced by RoHS-compliant equivalents. https://www.digikey.co.uk/en/products/detail/bourns-inc/4816P-T01-220LF/1089291 as an example. The footprint is supposedly the same. Bolle was also...

    Guide or recommendations for 8.0/8.1?

Since we live in a post-spinning disk time where hard disk space isn't really a factor anymore, and we can easily swap drive images/SD cards I've put together my own collection of "standard" images. I am of course standing on the shoulders of giants, so they are all based on various guides...

    Cap list for Astec AA16870

Greetings all. I recently got a Q700 case with the motherboard and the PSU from a Quadra 650. The caps in the PSU looked really toasted from a hard life with a million hours in at least soft-power-"on". I couldn't find a parts list for the caps in this specific one, so I thought I'd do the...
