Hey folks! Okay, I cleaned the inside of the G4 a bit, put new thermal paste on the processor and added the SSD, partitioning it.. I found that in order to try and install OS9 on the SSD, the original OSX HD had to be in there as well. Downloaded the OS9 drivers from this link...

A little info on my G4.. .

This G4 mirror door is a nice machine-and it's the only classic Mac I plan to hold onto. I just want to use it for data storage.

I assume that, once I install an SSD, I should be able to install OS9 onto it, yes? I'm thinking about getting a 250 GB SSD. This SSD will only be used to back up data from the old SCSI drives; I plan on putting nothing else there.

I should have clarified earlier-the internal drive only has OSX.
