    A takky Mac…..

That would be a real nice looking and practical solution! Collecting the needed cables and connectors new would be hard (here in Europe - I guess) But may be newly available somewhere🙏 Or need to be salvaged from boards and other peripherals. I am no real fan of old connectors😢 Alternative...

    A takky Mac…..

My bad….🙈 sorry! “I suggested designing a ports panel for the rear of the case”….. Yes, of course👍 But, the various compact mac models have different ports layout. I am still working on the best base (frame) layout to make any ports shield possible. From there it can individually adapted as...

    A takky Mac…..

Hello again and thanks for your input here. i try to reply asfar as i do understand the question /remark…… 1: space on top…. It looks spacious, but the two frame sides run all up to the top of the inside case. This way the “drawer” cant move anymore when closed locked in by the front. Next to...

    A takky Mac…..

Hi, Good question! I do think the space underneath is sufficiënt. But if somehow the bottom-backpanel needs to be placed higher for more additional (cable) space, that is possible. (Perhaps for a SCSI cable, these can be bulky) There is some extra space on top where the cabletree is stuck to...

    A takky Mac…..

Hello all, Ive been wondering where to start this topic about combining a 630 board inside a SE/30 case. Nothing new you may say, and technically, you are correct. But then, its all about the “tinkering“ fun, right? I like modern stuff aswell as the older. combining that into something pretty...

Breaking the 36MB RAM limit on the LCIII

Just wondering if there is a simple vertical connector to replace a simslot. This way it would be easier to expand to memory extension cards ( i call these ) Then it would be simple to plug this card in….. My two cents 😇

    New Q-C-P 630 PSU

A new PSU for the Quadra 630 series & derivatives….? I did get me a poor looking performa 630 “in working condition” a few moths ago. As I did test this machine for functionality and after it startsup, a smelly-stink became appearent very quickly. So, searching for this odours cause brought me...

Breaking the 36MB RAM limit on the LCIII

Yes, I dit try to clearefy the idea. A slot in the pcb may help for stability, and closer positioning of the solderpads, joints. Ive seen that for 90 degrees pcb montage in stereo’s in the far past……dunno how that works out for 30-45 dergrees. But also depend on how the traces run. So the second...

Breaking the 36MB RAM limit on the LCIII

Just a quick edit, but again thinking about this idea….it may break traces to the top sim. As for my SE40 project, do check the pinterest link in my profile for more pictures.

Breaking the 36MB RAM limit on the LCIII

Interresting solution….. I love to try this out on my 630 (SE40) project. Would it be possibe to cut a slot in the PCB and slide the sim in and so lock in together with the 3D printed part? No stress on the solder joint as a result.

    Classic II

Yes, its real Frankenstein SE/40 Just like CC Mystics or Takky’s I guess. I was able to get my hands on some gutted cases……a nice SE30 in good working order was also on my wishlist. At the current prices also no real option to me.

    Classic II

Hello all, thanks for having me here…. My name is Chris, and I am from the Netherlands. Since 1991 Ive owned my Classic II….and ive used it with pleasure. Then due to a change into 2D and 3D CAD software, i had to move over to a pc. The classic was stored in the attic. Totally forgotten, I...

Run a Color Classic without an analog board or tube?

Thanks! So, tube control electronics can mostly be repaired. Tubes itself can fail due to burn-in damage (may still work) and mechanical damage - (cracked) Now I leave this thread to Erics CC monitor/display solution.🍀
