    Retr0bright findings

I have to agree. I ruined a Mac case using this method. Came out marbled. Submersive method seems to work better. Also, don't forget to remove your rainbow apple logo before retrobrighting, or it can come out "pastel" when finished.

Classic Mac OS WiFi Supplicant For 68k?

The piSCSI superbenk mentions is nice because it also works as an SD card to SCSI hard disk. If your Mac has an ethernet port, you can always use an ethernet bridge. I've had success with this one, though you'll need USB power or compatible DC power adapter for it...

SSD in an TAM (ATA Drivers Issue)

Have you tried one of the SD Card or CF Card to ATA adapters instead? Considering the age of the machine, I doubt using an actual SSD will seem much faster. Also is there anything plugged into the PCI slot?

    SCSI2SD - finding existing partitions?

So My SCSI2SD started misbehaving and listing one of the partitions as 7 different drives. I re-uploaded the firmware settings, guessing the partition sizes, and got three of the correct partitions to appear properly. The fourth partition though is a mystery. Is there any way to figure out what...

    Hiding "dot" files in Classic?

Got the Mac up and running. Regrettably no luck with the new version of the extension. It appeared to cause the Finder to crash when opening AFP volumes. It also seemed to cause a slowdown on 8.6. Thank you for trying ! If you ever post the source code anywhere, I'd be interested in taking a...

    Hiding "dot" files in Classic?

Will try to test this out this weekend. The scsi2sd in my classic mac decided to forget all of its settings this week, so it might be a while.

Great Little Machine -- what is it?

Came across mention of this Apple prototype here: Does anyone have more info about what it was going to be? Video I think says it was 6502 based and was going to have a high resolution black and white display. Computer History Datasheet says it was a MC68000G10, not a 6502...

    Hiding "dot" files in Classic?

Crutch -- unfortunately it didn't appear to do anything under OS 8.6 or OS 9 on either local files, or files on mounted AFP volumes. Did you upload the most current version?

    Hiding "dot" files in Classic?

Someone asked what version of classic -- OS 9, 8.6, and System 7.6.1 on actual old beige Macs I fiddle with from time to time. Which explains why I'm using AFP to connect to the OS X computer. It's still running an older version of X, so I managed to get AFP working (though I have heard you can...

    Hiding "dot" files in Classic?

Wondering if anyone knows of an extension or a ResEdit hack for automatically hiding files beginning with a period (like .ds_store) in classic Finder. A lot of files and folders that are invisible on OS X show up when mounting the same drive over AFP in OS 9 and earlier. If there's a terminal...

    AppleVision 850AV Repair

Make sure the ADB cable from the display is connected to the computer. This allows you to use the Monitors & Sounds control panel to adjust the display width and helps this monitor to sync correctly. I also recommend installing the last version of Apple Displays software available for the...

Just ordered a Quadra 950, any known caveats or advice?

Wondering where you found one, and if I can ask how much you paid for it. The ones on ebay are getting way too high for me to afford.

Project request - Duo battery case 3d print

Chat me where to send the battery and I'll ship it out. Using AAA batteries instead of AA will probably work. It won't run as long but it's better than nothing!

4.5V Battery Replacement for Early Compact Macs?

I've used AAAs in stuff like this: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P2FJA2M/ If you have one of the old dead batteries, you can snip the connector end off of it and use some heatshrink to connect it. You don't have to order from Amazon either. Stuff like this is available on most...

Project request - Duo battery case 3d print

Hi there. I'm no good with 3d printing or CAD (or even taking measurements for that matter). But if YOU are, would you be interested in designing a Duo battery case for AA or AAA batteries? Has anyone already done this? It might make a good project for anyone around here with a youtube channel...
