    I miss the internet...

Does your mention of "mega networks" mean you posted on social media like a FaceBook group and got that message? Regardless, I'm a big advocate of free speech online. It's risky, but worth it. I also agree about those feelings of nostalgia. I still remember the dial-up BBS's of the mid...

    Spicy O’ Clock Project issues

Once you reach the clock speed of your dreams, I suspect you'll be changing your avatar to Happy Mac! :-) Kay Koba told me his overclock was limited until he swapped out his tantalums for OS-CON, so I assume it will be the same for you even with fast 60ns VRAM. But the overlock depends also...

    Spicy O’ Clock Project issues

It seems the motherboard was recapped with AVX Solid Tantalum capacitors, which have much larger ESR than Panasonic OS-CON, so am interested in hearing how high it can be overclocked.

My MacSD Upgrade for the Colour Classic [and Stereo Mod]

Folks, I'm in the middle of filming the STEREO MOD, and I want to mention a few things... FIRST, I wish to thank @Jagmn once again because he posted a second speaker CASE design that doesn't have the tab on the back, which can be helpful when mounting two speakers inside the Color Classic...

What Apple Service Tools And Devices Do You Own?

I must be completely honest with you in that I simply do not have time to spend on fun projects like that. Perhaps if I quite YouTube entirely, I might. But I'd rather make videos instead. :-)

    Interware SE/30 accelerator

@pocketscience Speedometer 3.x and 4.x are different, so you would need to specify the version used. Doing Norton 3.5.x Speed Info is another good benchmark to run. I also recommend running MacBench 3.0 (all tests), as that will run on an SE/30 just fine, whereas version 4.0 will not. The...

    Interware SE/30 accelerator

I'm curious as well. I have the DiiMO (which you kindly repaired for me -- thank you!) and the socketed PowerCache. In every benchmark test I've tried, the DiiMO is just a tad bit faster than the PowerCache, even though both have '030 processors running at 50MHz. I believe the reason is due...

Another dual PDS Adapter for SE/30? 🤔 (PDS only, no cache connector)

The BMOW ROM-inator II works fine with the PowerCache board, but Garrett's Workship ROM doesn't work with it. The last I spoke to Zane, he suspected it could be a timing issue. But if you don't have a PowerCache, then all is well with Zane's ROM. I did a lot of testing.

Another dual PDS Adapter for SE/30? 🤔 (PDS only, no cache connector)

If you are taking about the Daystar Turbo040, then yes, you need only have the ARTMIX TS Adapter like I have, or get one of Bolle's creations which are even better due to added functionality. I don't have a comprehensive accelerator card compatibility list though because I am not the creator of...

Another dual PDS Adapter for SE/30? 🤔 (PDS only, no cache connector)

Most likely an older edition. These are photos of my 40MHz Turbo040, prior to the ASIC repair... And here's a version of the Turbo040 shown in the Daystar documentation...

Another dual PDS Adapter for SE/30? 🤔 (PDS only, no cache connector)

Glad you enjoyed the read. It certainly was a learning experience! Even with the right chips, it took some excellent troubleshooting and soldering on the part of Bolle to get it fixed. So in the end it was the dynamic duo of @joethezombie and @Bolle who resurrected the Daystar Turbo040. I am...

    Snooper serial loopback plug

It's not hard to make them, as I show from the 35:49 timestamp in my video. Amazon links to the cable and heat shrink tubing are found within the text description under the video on Youtube.

Another dual PDS Adapter for SE/30? 🤔 (PDS only, no cache connector)

It really is an amazing story if you took time to mostly read through that entire thread. The unbelievable part is that @joethezombie was able to buy a batch of new, old stock Daystar ASIC chips, without which the repair would have been impossible. Simply incredible!

My MacSD Upgrade for the Colour Classic [and Stereo Mod]

For the sake of clarity, it is important to note that the TDA7052A (click for data sheet) is a dedicated audio amplifier IC, whereas the LM3080N is a special kind of op-amp called an Operational Transconductance Amplifier, which is used as a voltage-controlled current source. So if indeed, the...

Another dual PDS Adapter for SE/30? 🤔 (PDS only, no cache connector)

Here is why plugging a cache card into a PDS slot is a bad idea… The entire story is in my old thread… https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/se-30-pds-adapter-epic-blunder.32138/

Another dual PDS Adapter for SE/30? 🤔 (PDS only, no cache connector)

@retr01 was the one who first brought it to my attention. I had not seen it before. And just to be clear (for those who don't like to read the entire Google translation of the product page, this is a PDS splitter. You get 2 PDS slots instead of one. The TS Adapter and the TS Adapter clone...

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

Here are more stats from just now, as pertaining to the Speedy Bends video... Lost 1 subscriber. Lower than normal performance and view time. Lower number of views than normal. I kind of expected that, but I still wanted to try to do some shorter videos just to prove to the younger...

    LCII Sony Superdrive Issue

Glad to hear the transistor swap worked. Testing an NPN BJT transistor with a resistor on the "base" is important to protect the transistor from damage. Without a base resistor, the transistor can be damaged. That is not true of a MOSTFET though, since those are voltage controlled. BJT...
