Bringing the Internal SCSI drive to the 128k, 512k, and Plus

It seems everyone now understands the HyperDrive I show is not SCSI, I should add that at 7:14 in my GCC HyperDrive 10 video, I show it is an ST-412 interface (instead of SCSI). That interface requires two cables. Also, as I point out in that same video, the HyperDrive was on the market at the...

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

Not sure. It was like that when I got it. But it probably can be straightened without issue. Now that I know the chip is pre-programmed, I need to build the board, then test it. I can then report back here as to the result.

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

Good question. You are referring to this ADB chip used by Kai's PCB... @Kai Robinson, from what board were these chips extracted? (The two in the photo above are the 2 you kindly shipped to me.)

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

Kai, thank you for that important clarification, especially because your Github page here does not clearly state the chips that you need must be special pre-programmed chips that are to be acquired from the place like UT source. In an older PM, you had previously told me the following... But...

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

Explained in green at the bottom of page 4 in my BOM here. I have not built or tested one of those boards because I have never bought the required programmer. I assume @Kai Robinson has programmed and tested at least one of them though.

Grid 1 REVIEW — iPhone 2G Wall Art

I actually did some EBAY searching. For a scratched up 2G unit which nobody wants, you'll pay about US$80. For a more pristine unit that is also functional, you'll pay US$250. But if I had a functional unit, I'd probably keep it in a case or drawer mostly, whipping it out to show people when...

Grid 1 REVIEW — iPhone 2G Wall Art

My preference too "if and only if" it arrives intact. Knowing how these items get kicked around, it probably wouldn't unless they spend a lot more on packing material to ensure the glass arrives in a pristine condition.

    That moment when...

I take it you have the RAM chips with the Apple logo printed on them? Those seem to be the worst in terms of reliability for some reason.

    Retrobrite question

What was your RetroBright formula? I always dunk my small parts in tupperware filled with 3% H2O2 and a bit of powdered Oxiclean, then I put plastic wrap on the top to limit evaporation. About 6 hours later in the hot sun, the parts are deyellowed without streaking. However... I always clean...

Have a Macintosh-68k? Please run this for me!

If ever you write a little app (or mod of the existing one) that can take advantage of the 68881 and 68882 FPUs, that would be really amazing! The Levco SuperMac SpeedCard I have now is having 68881 FPU issues. To be honest, I'm not sure if it is working. Neither Speedometer nor Norton System...

Grid 1 REVIEW — iPhone 2G Wall Art

Spotted this on FaceBook today. Just a timing coincidence this news hit shortly after the debut of my video? Article here: https://www.macrumors.com/review/grid-studio-ipod-and-ipad-mini/ And for those of you thinking US$399 is pricey for the original iPhone, The article mentions that the...

Grid 1 REVIEW — iPhone 2G Wall Art

😱😱😱 No wood texture at all on the black part of the Grid 1 frame, so the Sannahed frame you mention, based on internet photos I am seeing, would appear to be a close match.

Grid 1 REVIEW — iPhone 2G Wall Art

I guess the iPhone isn't very popular as a topic, or perhaps my channel visitors just don't like it. Lower than normal views AND a loss of a Subscriber too! Yikes! Glad I'm not a full timer Youtuber. I notice the numbers but don't live by them. :)

Grid 1 REVIEW — iPhone 2G Wall Art

My YouTube Channel stalker was quick with the Thumbs-down this time... Admittedly, I don't know if it's the same fellow or not, but there's always that one thumbs-down not matter what the video is about. Or maybe it really is a different person each time, upset because they were expecting a...

Grid 1 REVIEW — iPhone 2G Wall Art

I like the fact they also included the battery too. I hope it's a dummy, gutted battery, but I still like a more complete set. Some people ask if the parts inside the Grid 1 (iPhone 2G) can be used to build a complete phone, and the answer is no. But I guess the pristine shell could be used...

Apple TechStep Replacement ROMs, cartridges, software, and more!

You should have bought it. I doubt it would not have turned on, but even if it didn't our TechStep reverse engineering project is underway, giving insight into how the thing works and therefore potential help if one is in need of repair. $120 for a complete kit with bag, even with only 2...

Grid 1 REVIEW — iPhone 2G Wall Art

For you vintage iPhone lovers out there. You can now have internal organs of the original iPhone 2G beautifully splattered on your wall! If you already own a product from Grid Studios, I'd love to see a photo of yours and hear how you like it.

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

Yes, MacSD is faster on an SE/30 compared to an SE because the SCSI on the SE/30 is faster. In my MacSD review video, I present detailed benchmarking results with my SE/30.

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

Speaking of "taking the bull by the horns," @iPhil64, if you don't already have a MacSD, I highly recommend you give it a try. You will see the fastest performance on Macs faster than the 8MHz SE, but it still has a pretty amazing feature set. And if you have an OverEasy II ( created by...

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

Only @MacEffects and @Kai Robinson would know that based on the sales numbers of the SE Reloaded boards, and based on the boards Kai sent out to people. One thing I have learned is the life is largely what we make of it. If we sit around with a house full of parts and do nothing with them...
