I've never heard of any panels in those computers that aren't compatible - to my knowledge, many LCDs started using a standard connector around that time.
As for the resolution change, I'm not sure.
Thank you for the very detailed explanation! I think I’ll be ordering myself an LG display cable soon. I’ve already got a spare 12” iceBook display to use as a donor.
I won’t be able to make it due to schedule conflicts unfortunately, lines right up with finals in school and I really can’t afford a weekend trip then. I am aiming to make it to the swap meet in June though!
I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised about the Quantum drives working - those Macs appeared to have been stored exceptionally well over the years. That IIsi that TDNC fixed up was the cleanest one I had ever seen. The logic board caps looked the cleanest I’d ever seen, and the ELNA caps in the...
Are you telling me that every single one of those Quantum hard drives worked??!! Wow.
Also, you’ve got to be the first person in years that’s successfully shipped a 5200 series Power Mac without damage. Good work!
The big issue with comment link stuff is that they just can’t make everyone happy… People complained for years about the comment bots that promote scams in every big youtuber’s comment section, calling on YouTube to get better filtering that catches them, then others complain that it’s too...
If someone has not put any info there, there's a solid chance that they simply don't want to be contacted. I don't have any email set for my channel in that way for that specific reason, it opens me up to a bunch of spam and other garbage.
Just saw this thread, seems like the perfect thing to put on my website as a list! Would be useful to know for sure.
So far I've gathered:

Any others only do sync on green?
These are also starting to get ready for a recap nowadays - I still need to do so to mine. If you want more consistent contrast behavior, that may be what you have to do at this point.
Hmm. That is cutting it awfully close, and OS X does do some 3D stuff, right? Maybe not. My main worry would be that the logic board/open firmware version would simply refuse to output. XGA video. It had to gain a reputation that it’s a mod for the 2nd gen models only for a reason, just is...
If you don't know, it's possible to install a 1024x768 resolution display in an iBook Clamshell with a special LCD cable and an open firmware command to get everything set. I've heard conflicting info on whether this is possible on an original 4MB VRAM model (Blueberry/Tangerine), which happen...
The PowerBook 3400c's power board is right under the trackpad, and as such heats it up quite a bit after running for a while! Heated trackpads should be a real feature, my fingers can get pretty chilly in the basement, and the trackpad actually can help haha.
