I would imagine that if one model was not affected we would know by now. It's all of the monochrome and grayscale active matrix displays, including those found in PC laptops.

Good points, I’d be glad to check my manufacture date/region if you do find that it is labeled. My backlight is super white, much more so than other 170s appear in photos. CCFL backlights usually turn yellow with use though, not over time. Mine is probably just a low hour system.

My PowerBook 170 came with a pretty fitting bag. It has absolutely zero branding whatsoever on it, but it's well built and has space for accessories. I can also take some pictures later.

That display should be fixable as well. It’s got vinegar syndrome, which is an issue with the display polarizer adhesive going bad. If you replace the polarizing film the display should work again. The PowerBook‘s logic board and the display will also need to be recapped as well if you haven’t...

The image you showed was vinegar syndrome - when the display polarizer adhesive fails. You can replace the polarizer to fix that issue, but it's tricky.
