    Attic dropped soffit air sealing

This used to be a plastic vapor barrier and the paper backing of the soffit's drywall. Now it's just a crumbly and moldy mess. Mmmmm roof sand, bird feed, mouse poop and mouse nests. Nice. Had to clean up all that mess, patch the ceiling and paint it to give some kind of protection...

Community project? NuBus-to-SPI interface... aiming toward ESP32-based WiFi card

Regarding card dimensions: There's more computer specific dimensions and clearances given in the Designing Cards and Drivers for the Macintosh Family by Apple Computer, Inc. I looked at the IIsi developer docs since I consider it a smaller Mac and it mentions "Any size NuBus card specified...

HTTP proxy and transcoder for vintage browsers

Yeah not sure how that could be done transparently. Off the top of my head I could see the proxy downloading the image, converting them with image magick or the like, hosting it locally in directory path named to uniquely identify the page and image for current/future use and then...

Restoration: Macintosh SE with Water Damage

The Evapo-rust really did a good job! Think it's probably the best results I've seen. The new plating looks great too. Don't really know any local places that would do it at reasonable price but I haven't look hard.

    Essentail Apps/Games for 5x86?

Played quite a bit of Sim City and Sim City 2000. Really liked Epic Pinball as well. Played Fountain of Dreams quite a bit as well. It's the unofficial sequel to Wasteland. Played Castles a lot too. Out of this World is really great game too. Wolfenstein and Spear of Destiny of course...

    Attic dropped soffit air sealing

Thank you :) Yeah this would be the fourth time doing work in the attic. The first time was just cleaning up the mess left by the builders, adding the path down the middle and putting in the lights. It was well worth it since it makes it a lot easier to get around at least.

Yeah was just thinking it shouldn't be too bad to modify. Good for you for doing the mods :)

Community project? NuBus-to-SPI interface... aiming toward ESP32-based WiFi card

Yeah I hear ya. Was thinking maybe it would be possible to convert the packets of the Mac SPI interface into a normal ethernet signal and then pass that to the ethernet to wifi esp32 bridge. I guess that's really hacky though. I did find this though...

    Solder Paste/Flux Syringe Gun

I was looking for plungers for the solder paste and flux syringes that came without one. Found out they actually sell gun type dispensers for syringes which I thought was pretty neat: Anybody use these?

    Harris International SE Accelerator Board

Actually, looking at it again, maybe what looks like an arrow in that corner might be just a piece of dust or scratch but it definitely the bottom left corner where the diagonal corner of the chip should go. :D

    Harris International SE Accelerator Board

The socket has a diagonal corner \ like the chip and also has an arrow too. It's the bottom left corner in your picture, just above the M in "Made in USA".

Community project? NuBus-to-SPI interface... aiming toward ESP32-based WiFi card

This might be a dumb suggestion but would something like this be useful in such a case? Idea being to look for something that already converts the ESP32 to ethernet. https://www.cnx-software.com/2020/11/09/6-wt32-eth01-is-a-tiny-esp32-board-with-ethernet/

WarpSE: 25 MHz 68HC000-based accelerator for Mac SE

Yeah that makes a lot of sense after looking at the MC68000 timing diagram for 2-Wire bus arbitration. Ah that makes a lot of sense. So basically this would be required if there's more than 2 CPUs that would take over the bus. So just to make sure I understand correctly, if I want to just...

    HP EliteBook 8740w GPU Upgrade

The HP EliteBook 8740w is still one of my favorite laptops. It's one of the last laptops with a 1920x1200 screen which is a 16:10 aspect ratio versus the more common 1920x1080 which is 16:9. I still use one with a i7-940XM processor, 32GB ram, 1TB SSD drive and Dreamcolor screen which looks...

    Attic dropped soffit air sealing

Bought my first house 6 years ago and it's been non stop major renos since then. Had to demo the whole finished basement and redo the french drain around the house but that's a story for another time. Today I'll just share a "little" project I'm currently working on to help heating bill and...

WarpSE: 25 MHz 68HC000-based accelerator for Mac SE

I was wondering how the system knows to use the accelerator in the PDS slot. Looking at the MC68000 datasheet it seems to start off by asserting /BR (active low in this case) from the co processor which in this case would be the accelerator. Looking at the pinout for the SE PDS slot it should be...

    Too many categories

I dunno I kinda like having all the separate categories. I can understand though that some stuff might be cross domain though. Usually I'm looking at the recent posts for interesting new topics that might popup :)
