Finds: PowerBook 180c and PowerPC G5

Found a PowerPC G5 for $35 recently. Needed a good dusting out but otherwise good. Replaced the 80 GB spinning drive with a older SSD I had sitting around. Also just picked up a PowerBook 180c. Everything works and the drive sounds like it’s about to fail. The screen is fine and I know I should...

Macintosh SE BlueSCSI mount/adapter for external access?

I've been looking at something similar so I can extend a cable from my Performa 550 drive bay to the expansion slot opening. But then I'd be using up the expansion slot opening. Periodically opening the rear panel gives me pause - one of these days I'm going to break a plastic tab. A...

    Yet Another Netatalk 2.2 Fork

This is so awesome! Thank you! I tried several times to get earlier releases to work and gave up.

Recapping a Performa 550 - Same as Color Classic II main board?

Recapping completed. Had a couple of pads come off but was able to fix it with a bit of wire and offsetting one of the caps over the remaining trace to the pad.

Recapping a Performa 550 - Same as Color Classic II main board?

I pulled the trigger and ordered the CCII kit. I'll post when it gets here.

Recapping a Performa 550 - Same as Color Classic II main board?

Looking at capacitor replacement kits at console5.com for my Performa 550. It's not listed specifically, so I'm trying to be careful and verify. The board in my Performa is marked "820-0368-A" which is listed at console5.com as a Color Classic II board. Isn't the Performa 550 main board the same...

    ResEdit programming issue

Went ahead and created it anyway. It renders correctly from the program. However, when I am reading the minutes dialog box, the following code segment isn't working properly. It is able to get the val - the position of the selected menu item. GetItem() either returns a garbage string (first...

    ResEdit programming issue

I’m stumped! The DITL renders the controls but the DLOG does not! I’ve rechecked and rebuilt it twice.

    TI-99/4A

This is the computer I learned BASIC programming on back in the early 80's. Still have it but haven't turned it on in about five years. Worked the last time it was on. I gave my eldest daughter a lesson in BASIC programming back when she started college using it so she could understand the struggle.

    Compact Mac's feet project

I've been thinking about making replacement rubber feet for my PowerBook 520c using hand made silicone molds. I had some success creating polyurethane parts for a 116 to 120 film spool adapter for an antique camera. The cheap silicone caulk mixed with corn starch I used to make the mold was...

    MacLO - New 68k game & source

Source too - that's cool. And it's the MIT license which is even better! I have the source to Flappy Mac. I'll have to check this out too.

    MacLO - New 68k game & source

I’m interested! Just in the middle of a project right now. I am also getting into 68K game development. Mostly in HyperCard but plan to migrate to C sometime soon.

Still lurking - just busy with another hobby for now

Yo. Still here and lurking once in a while. I've been busy rebuilding a Burke & James 4x5 Press film camera. The poor thing was kept in a basement left to rust. Learning quite a lot about painting aluminum - self etching primer is a thing. And how to construct a camera bellows - it's difficult...

    Modern day xTalk (HyperCard)

I'm interested enough to take a look. I've recently written a quick little game in HyperCard. Could be interesting to try a port.

    68K programming

I cut my teeth on C on Unix and DOS back in the day. Ended up working most of my career in the Microsoft stack. I'm used to relying on magazines, books, and manuals when I work in C - back in the dark past before the Interwebs.

    68K programming

Are there any 68K software developers on here? I’ve recently revisited HyperCard development and I’m looking into getting back into C development. Recently tossed together a game for the Royal Game of Ur in HyperCard. Will share the code with anyone who is interested. Fair warning, it’s a hot...
