Modding the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (Firmware Hack)

Can anyone tell me how to remove the lens cap? I thought it was snapped on, but I can't. I would like to check if the focus is OK.

Modding the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (Firmware Hack)

I have the same problem, almost all films skip. And my scanner stops like yours. I'm wondering what to do, how to get it to stop like the one that works well. I wondered if it wouldn't be possible to adjust the mounting on the motor. If the mechanism could be rotated on the shaft of the stopped...

Modding the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (Firmware Hack)

hi, I was considering returning it, that's why I was looking for the original firmware. I've tried probably all the ones here, but none of them have the same start screen. So I ruled out this option. As someone else wrote here, I tried polishing the film pressure plates and loosened the screws...

Modding the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (Firmware Hack)

CDenhart Thank you for trying to help me. I've tried the firmware from the link before. Some didn't work and left only red spots on the screen. Some worked just like yours, but they all had the same defect. The opening image was different from my original. So the way back to the seller is...

Modding the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (Firmware Hack)

Hi, my Kodak is probably very bad. Even the color film started to skip. It makes a strange clicking sound when scanning and at that moment the image skips. I'm thinking of returning it, but there is a problem with that. I uploaded modified firmware to it and I can't return it in this state...

Modding the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (Firmware Hack)

Hi, I tried the latest firmware version, but neither version works. Both A and B only have colored spots on the display after restart. In version C, the display works as it should, everything can be set, but nothing is saved to a 128GB card formatted in exFAT. The original firmware wrote to it...

Modding the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (Firmware Hack)

I'm trying color film and there's no skipping. The advance works fine, so the problem must be with the black and white films. They're probably dried up from age. Since I have a lot of super 8mm, I need to figure out how to fix it. Since the color ones are OK, I'd like to try your firmware. I'm...

Modding the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (Firmware Hack)

Hopefully this piece will suffice as an example. Edit I just tried a normal 8mm and it came through fine. No skipping. It looks like a problem with the film.

Modding the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (Firmware Hack)

Hi, how do I know what version of the machine I have? Is it A, B or C? I thought it was the first letter of the serial number I have C1725148BK00237. But when I see numbers starting with H, it must be different. Thanks a lot for the answer.

Modding the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (Firmware Hack)

Sorry, I forgot to add that it is super 8mm. I switched as written in the instructions. The film plays well for a while, then skips a few times, sometimes more and sometimes less, and then plays normally for a while. This repeated itself on the entire reel where there were two films.

Modding the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (Firmware Hack)

Hello, greetings to all the handy people here on the forum. Today I picked up the shipment of my Kodak v.2 number C1725148BK00237. I tried to search for new firmware on the website https://mac84.net, but I got the answer that Your serial number was NOT found. So I don't know whether to upload...
