The pop sound does NOT occur every 10 seconds when I boot into System 6.0.7 or 6.0.8 while also (1) loading "Portable" control panel version 1.2 (which is made for the 5120 and therefore lacks a "Brightness" slider, using Contrast instead), or (2) not loading any version "Portable" control panel...

Meaning these two electrolytic caps... As shown on the 5120 schematic... And shown as C2 and C3 on the LT1070 datasheet... Yes, that is what I am hearing and is what I have been calling a "pop" sound.
