I do have a PiSCSI running now and it's working great through the external SCSI ports. I'm not sure I'm going to be keeping any of these SEs, so i didn't want to go with an internal solution. But I will definitely recommend it when I do decide to pass these on to new homes.

Update! The PowerBook arrived today and as advertised it didn't power on. UNTIL I took out the battery! Then I got a chime and I think a full boot. Couldn't tell because the screen is shot - totally black and no adjustment to the contrast or brightness could fix it. And brightness only seemed...

I don't have another G4, I'd thought about Target Disk mode. I did just find an OS9 'boot kit' on MacRepository that can be installed on a USB drive and booted, so I'm going to try that, it has software to reinstall OS9 and do some disk repair diagnostics too.

Oh! Also wondering if there's an OS9 utility or Control Strip module that lets me monitor the CPU/GPU temperatures.

Absolutely! One of my goals is to clean these up and make them as like-new as I can, and JDWs floppy drive videos have been a great guide.

Ah, okay, I was worried about that. It's okay, I did pick up a System 6 floppy not long ago, but it appears the floppy drive isn't reading anything right now. SO that's my next step I guess! Explains why so many of the .dsk images I've found include a System folder on them.

I didn't pick up RealBasic until I had a G4, so it just boggles me that there's a version of it that works with the 68K family. If 2.1.2 requires 7.1 to run, can it export apps for 68000 computers?
