Before my unit died, expo_iso at 0x80e5590c was working for me. The display of ISO value changed correctly as light was controlled.

The 1600x1200, is still better than upscaling to 1728x1296 (1.3333:1). Although the scanning aspect ratio is 1.35:1, not 1.333, and the maximum resolution is 1452x1076. So you could try setting 1452x1076 for the encoder resolution (no scaling), or maybe 1456x1080 (more H264 compression...

You can try a constant, but that will cause capture crashes with some film/grain.

@videodoctor The RBN wouldn't be useful as a development base, as I just masking-out code to see what was causing capture the issues, not improving the system yet. I did learn that type D is almost a complete rebuild. Fortunately, some of the hacks are less needed, like the resolution changes...

Yep. Something was breaking captures, which is what I was working on.

It is not doing anything for a firmware update. I will be opening it up next.

Reels Type D development has hit a roadblock. My unit stopped working, it was working but crashed during a capture, and will not power on now. I think the crash is likely unrelated, this be a hardware failure. Any ideas? Nothing is output over the serial port.

I originally tried this approach, but don't remember if it was the door position or focus issues that made find the new lens. But 1152x864 is a big improvement, over Type ABC's 752x564. Using the 12mm lens, the active Super 8 frame is 1376x1032 (types ABC). This approach might be prefect for...

It is possible that some of the jitter can come for the film being pulled too hard, however not all, as it can happen with no pulling reel attached. There is a firmware issue in the original, as it happens in stock unit too. I have some potential leads on next steps in firmware.

Don't use iris lens caps, as that introduces vignetting. The issue is the plastic camera mount, the thread is too easily messed up, I had trouble with it too. Maybe on my next unit, I will print my own extension tube in TPU, soft enough to thread the lens onto, fill customizable length.

And these were purchased from RMA? The correct lens will focus if that 7mm extension can sit flush against the lens mount. The 3D print now has three standoff heights, and I have found the lowest standoff height is the easiest. Yet you have to mount your sensor board significantly higher...

That doesn't appear to be the correct lens, it must be: Azure Photonics AZURE-1228MAC 2/3" 12mm F2.8 A generic 12mm M12 will not work, not any 16mm lenses that I have found. That lens has a different font, and hole not present on any of my AZURE-1228MAC lenses.
