Any interest in NEW Repro Lombard / Pismo battery packs?

Yeah There would be a shipping cost but i wouldn't take anything off the top for that so whatever it is based on location. I'm figuring the batteries are going to be around $50,, the dead batteries will cost me about $10 or so... plus materials for printing and, packaging, etc. And then each...

Sending a text message from a PowerBook with BlueSCSI WiFi

Ohhhh right that makes sense. Back in2913 I was making rotary cell phones that had a cell modem inside and you could program it by sending it commands through sms messages and it would reply back. The “UI” For it was texting. I could use the same hardware I suppose. Rotary cell phone if you are...

Freshly Recapped Portable - RAM Faults

Wow. I have a shelved portable board that I had fixed traces, swapped out the hybrid with SuperSVGA’s (though it wasn’t the issue and I killed a perfectly good OEM hybrid 😢), and re-capped and it too had the same type RAM error. I combed over the entire board and located all suspicious/ broken...

Sending a text message from a PowerBook with BlueSCSI WiFi

I thought it would be funny to teather my PowerBook 180 to my mobile WiFi hotspot and send a text to a friend while at the beach or Starbucks or something. I found this post where someone was sending an iMessage from a 68k Mac a couple years ago: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=30489003...

    Superboard II Repair

Here’s a vid of the data bus being active (after several minutes hitting the break key and getting lucky it comes to live sort of…) With all roms installed the screen never changes like it should from the random characters to the main command line prompt to allow you to enter BASIC. With...

    Superboard II Repair

A friend gave me a Superboard II and I just started to troubleshoot it but could use some help from someone familiar with this board. Anyone out there? So far I’ve confirmed the following: • 6502 is good (tested on Asteroids arcade board) • 2114 RAM good • Character generator chip good...

How to print to any printer from Classic Mac OS using macOS / X.

Nice workaround for modern printers. Is there a way to get my ImageWriter to print over Wi-Fi with my BlueSCSI Wi-Fi enabled 68K macs?

BlueSCSI wake from sleep freeze "fix" for Powerbook 100 series

Looks like Androda’s new 2023 10a board fixes the issue so no need for the hack anymore 👍 I swapped my board out for a wifi version and it’s the latest board and confirmed it wakes from sleep now without issue. Saw a mention of this in the release notes.

    found this little guy...

I remember my 16 year old self laughing at these when I saw them hanging on a rack (like sunglasses) at Sav•On and thinking “get a real computer” as if my Atari 800xl was a “real” computer 😂

    Going mobile

I’ve since found out that bag was initially for an Apple //c. but the PowerBook fits perfectly. Just a few inches deeper but width wise it’s perfect.

CodeWarrior Sending and receiving messages between two apps

Years ago when I was a full time Mac programmer I used the interapplication communication architecture. I can’t remember the details but it was apple event based. Found this article https://developer.apple.com/library/archive/documentation/mac/pdf/Interapplication_Communication/Intro_to_IAC.pdf

    BlueSCSI v2 - DaynaPORT WiFi!

I just tried out JCS’s BlueSCSI Wi-Fi Desk Accessory and it works great. I was thinking of modding the code to save the selection to a prefs file so it auto re-connects to the last chosen SSID. Then I thought what would be really cool is to make a cdev (like superclock) so the signal...
