It's even worse than 10.11, no patcher supports GPU acceleration for anything above Mountain Lion (10.8). That's what I've got running on my early 2008 BlackBook.

Gotta find it first, shouldn’t be too difficult, it uses AMI. My first suspect is the power board. My IBM PS/Note had similar behavior where it would power on but not POST which was caused by the bad cap. Maybe the caps on that board are out of spec, will likely replace those to start.

Yeah, I figured it would be too complex. Maybe if it was a common model, but the 5300ce probably sold as many units in the US as the 550c did in Japan. They only show up on eBay every couple of months as well.

Sharp 5300c panel will have its own cable too, I can say with complete certainty the the connector on the display side is in a different location than on the Toshiba panels.

I tried using the 5300c Toshiba cable with my SVGA 5300ce display previously after seeing they were both Toshiba panels (was expecting a sharp and even ordered caps for it... that's why I had it open) but it just produced garbage. Definitely different pinouts, though the connectors are the same...
