I want to see if the chips on my SE/30 reloaded board are functioning properly. I don't want to invest a lot at the moment. Just enough to know what might need to be replaced. Would something like this be adequate...

right. so my understanding is the proprietary chips are the GLU, SWIM and ASC. The only way to get these is to take them off of old boards. Are the ones on a IIcx or similar Mac II's compatible with an SE/30? I would assume the GLU is not?

oh I see. yes, I was using the wrong term. Are GLU and SWIM chips for the SE/30 only available from salvaged boards? I guess other SE/30s and Mac II ? No way to make modern equivalants?

Apologies if this has been covered but I can't find the info. New to this one. Would be nice to have extras of course. Especially interested in the GLU and SWIM chips. I believe the other PLCC mounted chips can be replaced off the shelf or are otherwise available?

Hi All, I'm working on an SE 30 with a logic board video issue. Heres an overview of what (I think) I know so far... Analog board, CRT and PSU are fine. They work with other SE and SE/30 logic boards and have been recapped. No video - occasionally displays random dots, static. Then calms...

If it were me, I'd start by redoing or reflowing the solder joints on the analog board. Then do an analog board and maybe PSU recap. That way you're at least getting the preventative maintenance out of the way. That normally fixes jittery screens for me but if not, you can dive into testing...
