    Software-only OVERCLOCK for LC475, LC575, Quadra 605

I don't believe anyone is complaining about 24-bit addressing mode lacking the overclock. People who haven't tried it yet are just curious. And that's why I strongly encourage everyone to give it a try to see how great it is. And while Mustermann did kick off the project, you brought it to...

Radius Rocket & Radius Thunder 24/GT compatible?

Very interesting. I have a 40MHz Turbo040 but I couldn't get it to work alongside my 33MHz Radius Rocket (040 with FPU, and 32MB RAM on-card), and my Radius Thunder 24/GT video card. My PSU is stock but recapped. I too have a BlueSCSIv2 installed (no spinner drive). However, I am able to use...

    Software-only OVERCLOCK for LC475, LC575, Quadra 605

Yes, it requires 32-bit addressing "to do the overlock." You can switch to 24-bit addressing to run System 6 (well, not on my 575 board, but maybe on a 475?) or to use less memory in System 7.5.5 and below (why one would do that, I don't know), but when you do that, there is no overclocking...

    Software-only OVERCLOCK for LC475, LC575, Quadra 605

I did a lot of testing and I reported that to @phipli via PM. I also spoke to Mustermann, who is the gentleman who kick started the whole software overclock project. Basically, what I found was that benchmark results were mostly the same as Spicy (on my 575 board) at the same clock speed...

NHK Video: Steve Jobs love of Japanese Art

More specifically… https://folklore.org/Mister_Macintosh.html Steve Jobs strongly advocated for that. I think it just goes to show that some of the most gifted and brilliant people in the world can sometimes come up with the most shockingly bad ideas in the world. When I first read that story...

    SPIISD V2 has been released

Congratulations on the V2 release, Kay! I also enjoyed reading your blog about it. The vintage Mac community would not be as great without the fabulous products you offer us at Kero’s Mac Mods. Thank you for your continued passion, innovation and commitment to product excellence!

Bolle's SE/30 Board Recreation - Pick and Place / BOM Discrepency

@Bolle or @grumpyengineer89 I am not finding any kind of Revision History info on the GitHub: https://github.com/TheRealBolle/SE30 What is the difference between Rev. 4 & the current Rev. 5?

    Massive Haul Video is UP!!

@nottomhanks Watching your video is a true pleasure. And I must say, your forum handle is wrong. You are in fact Tom Hanks! :) It’s not only your voice but your mannerisms as well. It’s really quite striking. So far, I’ve watched until your discussion about the Apple III where are you talk...

    Netatalk 4.0 - Future-proofing Apple File Sharing

I've found ChatGPT more adept at translation than Google translate, which has come a long way over the years. Back when Google Translate just started out, it's Engish<->Japanese translations were laughable. These days, nobody is laughing, although at times native speakers can recognize a...

    [Help] Closing SE/30 Case

Please shoot 2 more photos for us: 1. A well lit photo of the inside of the back case, so we can clearly see any possible obstructions. 2. A photo straight down with your machine face down on the floor, so we can assess what might be keeping the back case from fully being seated into the front case.

Radius Rocket & SCSI Booster Clones

All this time I was thinking the DSP board (for Photoshop acceleration) was the only daughtercard. Now I see Radius also had a SCSI board too, which is nice: https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/radius-rocket-daughterboards.40872/page-2#post-442695

Radius Rocket & SCSI Booster Clones

@max1zzz first mentioned his work on a Radius Rocket prototype here. I was informed about his MLA thread on the subject today. Specifically, it seems he now has a working board: I have an original Radius Rocket 33 with a full FPU 040, installed in my IIci. Here are some pics: Max, is...

Apple Lisa Mouse A9M0050 - Replacement Shell

PCBWay spends too much money on marketing, failing to realize just as many people know about them as JLCPCB. And JLC doesn't do a lot of marketing that I can see. That's why you see all these YouTubers pitching PCBWay. PCBWay even approached me a year ago by email, and I replied back saying...

    CiderPress II released

Changing topics... I'd like to add that I've not read the CiderPress II documentation yet to know if it offers a convenient means of converting JPG and PNG and GIF graphics to Apple II formats, but one app that is MAC NATIVE which I've used to do that in the past is BuckShot...

    CiderPress II released

Yes, I have Rosetta 2 on my M1 Max 16" MBP, but WINE isn't compatible, or at least it wasn't in the past. I've not tested CiderPress II on my Apple Silicon Mac yet. I've only tested on my Intel iMac so far. So you can get WINE to work on your M1 MBP?

    CiderPress II released

Just downloaded "CP2Mac106.zip" (1.2GB wow!) from that Github page, and tested it on my Intel iMac running Monterey. Sadly, the README says this: This is a Windows GUI application wrapped into a Wine emulation bundle for macOS. The emulation isn't perfect, but it's pretty good. That means...

    VCF SoCal 2025, February 15th & 16th, 2025

Thanks for your kind words. She's both excited and frightened because, like all college seniors, you're applying like mad but don't yet have a full time position lined up. And with CA state being as outrageously priced as it is, that's a key consideration. She does want to remain in the US...

Disk Jockey, a disk image file maker for your retro stuff - Beta for version 3!

Even if it did work (and yes, I've watched his otherwise excellent video 4 or 5 times since its release), it's a LOT more time and effort than just attaching a FloppyEMU to your IIe Card's Y-Cable and accessing Total Replay (any version) as a SmartPort0 drive. Drive Setup 7.3.5 shows this (and...
