How much of the 128K/512K hardware has been reverse engineered?

Does anyone have the schematic at hand to upload here?

DuoDock Power Supply issue (Un-solved agin)

That's a new one on me? I've collected everything I could about the Duo System. IIRC, the tick of death involved replacing the guilty component with one of higher capacity, so testing what you have in there at present might not do the trick? Is it still ticking and not booting up?

Mod: Quadra 660AV 2 MB VRAM Upgrade

There's a process I don't talk about on public forums to be used if I ever get around to doing an interstitial layer G3 adaptation for my 2300c that seems far better than castellation. It involves little spherical doodads pressed onto the adapter board in rows above each pad. It could be an...

Mod: Quadra 660AV 2 MB VRAM Upgrade

Indeed, thanks for that correction. I was likely conflating two different approaches to DRAM expansion in a half awake state. On board SIMM in the Q605 was confuddled with the IIsi soldered DRAM examples got confuzzled. To further explain/confuse things: 1 - As Kai noted, the onboard VRAM would...

Need help identifying component in Duo Dock PSU

ISTR there used to be howtos on how to fix the DuoDock PSU tick-of-death? Fixed mine that way ages and ages ago. Thinking it might have been a diode that failed? Falling asleep ATM, but maybe you can search something up about DuoDock PSU Repairs/Failures etc. out on the web?

How much of the 128K/512K hardware has been reverse engineered?

Wow, lots of interest stirred up already! Does anyone remember if the developer released info on a memory upgrade card or was it a SCSI card over at the MLA?

How much of the 128K/512K hardware has been reverse engineered?

Sure thing, comparison will be fun. Wondering how close we might get to 4MB Plus config starting out from original board design? 128K/512K upgrades are something I find fascinating. ISTR a memory upgrade developer releasing all over at the MLA at some point. It'll be interesting to see what a...

A Classic Mac neophyte journey begins.

LOL! No monkey here, Ignatz runs loose in the lab and Crazy Cat on my shoulder dodges way too many bricks. 🥴

How much of the 128K/512K hardware has been reverse engineered?

Thanks, no rush at all, heading off to work in a couple of hours. If you could take a few at lower resolutions as well that'll be better for templates in Illustrator. High res would be for reference material here in thread. Maybe post the pics in thumbnail mode with resolutions and...

Very nice starting point for the hobby. They look sweet indeed. When were you planning to have the monkey fitted to your back?

How much of the 128K/512K hardware has been reverse engineered?

Nice, thanks for the info on that. @Kai Robinson what's the story on SWIM? How different is it from IWM and might it be dropped in as a replacement if nobody takes on the IWM challenge? Does anyone have really high res pics of the 128K board to upload here? I'd like to set up the flow of the...

How much of the 128K/512K hardware has been reverse engineered?

SWIM is a superset of IWM or 100% incompatible? If the former, might make for some great playtime. Will the 128K boot from 512Ke ROM?

On the way, thanks! Definitely going to be integrated into the SE fan config test setup . . . if and when.

How much of the 128K/512K hardware has been reverse engineered?

https://tinkerdifferent.com/resources/apple-service-technical-procedures-volume-six.78/ Nice, but not what I was asking. How much proprietary silicon remains to be reversed in order to do a New Build vs. Reloaded board with "knockoff components" in place of OEM silicon? IOW, how close have we...

How much of the 128K/512K hardware has been reverse engineered?

Wondering how far off "reloading" a board with reverse engineered hardware might be? Thinking in terms of a new build 128K/512K hybrid board that can go either way at boot, depending upon which side of the repurposed programmer's switch is held down. Has the Integrated Wozniak Machine been...
