That’s the Talking Moose. Uses MacinTalk. You can get it on Macintosh garden or Macintosh repository. It’s a control panel. I had it on my Mac’s back in the 80s. Another good one is the Oscar’s the grouch one that pops out of the trash can when you empty the trash. yes I designed everything...

Micro Mac Plus - (MacClock hackintosh with all the bells and whistles)

Ya I have a bunch of those too. Sometimes not 100% reliable. This was an afterthought and initially I just wanted a simple beep sound so you know the machine is alive before the display turns on. But then when I added the Bluetooth module it already makes a sound so I just took a stab at seeing...

Micro Mac Plus - (MacClock hackintosh with all the bells and whistles)

It is on this. Funny coincidence but in this case it’s actually generating the sound with loops and pwm driving the speaker. but the Actual reason its called a startup sounder for the SFXbox is it was designed for this Williams arcade sound player thing I’m making and when you power THAT one up...

what’s the front of your maclock look like, is it blank or is there a branding name printed on it? My first maclock has the company’s name on the front of it and THAT one came with the version of stickers that have alternate “Macintosh” and rainbow Apple logo. The second one that I hacked does...

Haha yeah I spent too much one time on those stickers. I looked at the Mac plus and made one that’s a close match. it came with stickers but no Apple logo just a rainbow colored square and nothing “Macintosh” and everything “Maclock” The boot up isn’t perfect but pretty good. theres 3...

Going to embed a little Bluetooth module and speaker in it next. It runs system 6.0.8 good seems about the...

I just finished doing a MacClock to Mac Plus mod. Several have already done this but I wanted to take mine a bit of a step further. I scaled and positioned the screen to fit properly and got the pi to boot directly into Mini Vmac without putting up andy "Raspberry Pi" splash screens. Then I...

ImageWriter II Pi Print Server for Modern Retro Printing

Did you need the DP9 type serial because you have an ImageWriter and not an ImageWriter II? I had to use the DIN style. I am doing the same.. The pi is just plugged into power and connected over WiFi.

Clear case for 800XL now in 4 colors

Danng how much does it cost to get the injection mold tooling done for a case? I would love to be able to get the enclosures done professionally for my XEBOOK laptop project so I could get it into other people’s hands that want one or provide kits. I’ve built two now and keep refining it so it’s...

ImageWriter II Pi Print Server for Modern Retro Printing

Well this is pretty freakin' awesome. Take a Raspberry Pi, Install CUPS, then DO NOT use a USB to serial to Apple 8 pin DIN (because this will not work, the ImageWriter is RS422 and it took me hours to discover that the problem was not the baud rate or handshaking but it just will not work and...

Been tinkering with the Thunderscan 80’s contraption that turns your ImageWriter ii into a scanner. After opening the scanned image into Photoshop 1.0 (it can open Thunderscan format files) and saving out as a tiff and then sending it to my modern MacBook Pro by way of Fetch and BlueSCSI WiFi, I...
