    120GB SSDs in G4 Cube

I came across this MacRumors thread from 2016 today: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ssd-in-a-g4-cube-heres-a-bracket.1981819/ Any of you have experience with 120GB SSDs in the G4 Cube? I'm curious because one of my 120GB IDE drives died this week so I am mulling a more modern alternative...

    Clockometer v2.0.3

I'm rather surprised I'm the first person to ever make a Macintosh Garden request! Oh well, it must start with someone, right? The Garden currently has versions 1.7 and 1.9 of Clockometer, but Archive.org shows there was a newer version 2.0.3 too...

For all the Color Classic FANS out there...

Thank you for watching and for sharing your thoughts! Yes, the Noctua 80mm fan makes a noticeable difference insofar as the frequency of the noise is lower, versus the higher pitched sound of the stock fan. When I do my SCSI to SD card HDD replacement video, everyone can then see the real...

For all the Color Classic FANS out there...

Keep your beloved CC cool, semi-quiet and with slightly less current consumption too! Currently, the VGA Mod (with discussion about the 13" Hi-rez mod) and Spicy O'Clock Overclocking videos are in the works!

This video shows display adjustments for the 128/512K/Plus (and earlier in that same video you can see board variants too):

Holy freaking cow! Macway made those keyboards in transparent versions? I did not know that.

    Soldering temperature

If you have a volt meter, you should check the voltages at the white (semi-transparent) 10-pin connector you attached to it, as shown in the photo below. Because if the voltages you measure there are all correct, and if the Grounds are all correct, then you really don't have anything to worry...

    SuperDrive (floppy) maintenance

The SuperDrive terminology refers to the 1.44MB version floppy drive, as opposed to the 800K and 400K drives which came before. The overall procedure for the 800K is very similar to the 1.44MB though. In the video below, I show the SuperDrive disassembly, compare Molykote lubrication...

Help diagnosing a Color Classic Analog board

That advice got me thinking today... I have been using Deoxit "D5" for a while now with success on corroded (slightly green) cables/connectors on my compact Macs, but your mention of "F5" now has me curious. Not sure if you've tried either on the Brightness Knob of compact Macs like the...

    Compact Mac Video Adapter

Does that mean you have the board below in one of your Mac's, Ron? If so, could I see a photo of it installed on your motherboard?

    Solder Tweezers

I skimmed through that video. Seems like the Hakko might be just as good but at a lower cost. He does mention the benefits of tweezers over hot air, which is what I mentioned in my video as well. And like I briefly mentioned, he too showed the poor man's solution -- two soldering irons...

    LC520 Overclock

Actually, the Stereo Mod is on the agenda for my Color Classic video series, and I've already acquired the second speaker. But I intend to do the 640x480 and overclocking videos first. Stay tuned! :)

Kay Koba converts an LC575 Back Panel for the Color Classic

Wow! That's faster than I thought. Not only did you do an amazingly professional job, but you worked quickly too! The camera really slows you down, so that means you are super fast!

    Finally, a nice Quadra 840AV

That CD-ROM extension really is the ticket to getting the CD drive to work. I recently purchased a Performa 630 on Yahoo Auctions Japan for the equivalent of US$35 (including shipping). I could get the tray to open just fine but it wouldn't access CDs until I booted into OS 8.1, which had the...
