    PowerBook power adapter compatibility?

My inquires are, admittedly, selfish - I recently acquired a PowerBook 100, that included both an M5651 and M5652 adapter. Oddly enough I had not yet used/tried the M5652 yet....now I won't :)

    PowerBook power adapter compatibility?

Love the chart. What is the reasoning for Nope on M5652 and the PowerBook 100? I thought higher amps were okay as long as voltage is correct?

Experiments with the Apple QuickTake Cameras...

This is brilliant! What model of ultrasound printer are you using?

Ridiculous things you want to try and do...

Not ham-related, but ridiculous thing I want to do - use my Newton to find some geocaches. I have a newton-compatible GPS model, but i've never checked out what needs to be done to get maps loaded....and in my brief playing with it is is very, very slow, so a lot of free time will be needed.

For all the Color Classic FANS out there...

I have done the same fan replacement on my color classic, it's a great upgrade! Great before and after comparisons, even if you had hoped for a more dramatic difference, in my day to day experience it's a big change.

    New uses for old MessagePads

Very cool. Clever idea and nice implementation too!

Macintosh LC 575 “Mystic” logic board recap, install into Color Classic II chassis

I run my mystic CC at the original resolution. The ResEdit mod is easy enough to do and it just seems 'right' for the screen to me. IIRC the instructions are fairly straightforward, but I know I have the gusd file and instructions squirreled away somewhere.

Restoration: Macintosh SE with Water Damage

This was delightful. Thanks for all the detail, in both text and pics

In tech stuff, what's a little thing that just...bothers you more than it should?

"What really grinds my gears is..." I dislike the trend in software that's childish or...overly-familiar in communication, maybe? Example: if my corporate Outlook inbox is empty, there will be a little image of a palm tree and a message like "All done for the day! Take a break!" or something...

    This section needs a post!

I really enjoyed this vid. I too have never used a Lisa, and enjoyed the exploration aspect. Seems like the lisa really had a lot of GUI conventions we take for granted early on!

Hey you! Wanna get into iPods?

That sounds like what my problem was, if I recall. it's been a little while. Yes, 2.0.1 allows iTunes syncing in Mac OS 9, that's what's special about it. I ended up finding and buying a CD on ebay and archived it. I really thought I submitted it to Macintosh Garden but now I can't seem to...

Hey you! Wanna get into iPods?

I did not know this... I have a 3rd gen with the (previously very hard to find) 2.0.1 firmware, (for Mac OS 9 compatibility) and it never worked with flash media. But i was doing all my testing via Firewire.

What are your vintage grail items?

Maybe it's cliche, but for me it would a TAM...just the mystique (that may or may not have have been true) that you could pay to have an Apple guy with white gloves come set up your crazy expensive computer is something I'd love to own. Prices have always been high, though, and now they seem...

    MessagePad 120

I use my Newton 2100 not quite daily, but at least weekly. It makes an excellent infinite notebook - tracking books I've read, etc. And even having tried several different devices and apps over the years, I like nothing better than newton Notes, with the ability to create text...

    PowerBook 2400c Cardbus mod

I know I had also read in the past that snipping one of the yellow bodge wires (if present) on the motherboard is another way, but I can't find the link on that at the moment. Seems there's no shortage of theories, but I'm with @This Does Not Compute, I would guess software + cage is really the...
