The CD version of Tiger on the Mac Garden is good. IIRC it consisted of 4 CD images, of which you only really need 2 or 3 to get a basic Tiger installation up. (the rest is printer drivers and additional languages I think) I did use the CD installer many times before and it worked fine for me...

I tried ThinknC 6.0.1 on my Power Mac 8600 and 7.6.1 some time ago and ran into the same problems as @BFEXTU. It would hard crash especially during compiling, corrupting my project file in the process. Runs very nice and stable on my IIci - seems to be 68k only material.
