    Good TFT for a 512K case ?

Nice! Out of curiosity, might that model scale to fit a Lisa bezel? Front bezel is all I have. Curvature matches the 12" RGB ZaTopper.

TwiSlot PCI Riser and ComSlot2 NIC repro in widened CS riser form factor

Much improved CableMonster Riser test rig. Still boots into Slot A1, tested after every single modification. Next step is to solder all the breadboard jumper wires, Female/Slot, Male/Edgecard as on the bundled Interrupt lines on gray wire. Need to document the improvements made so far to the...

TwiSlot PCI Riser and ComSlot2 NIC repro in widened CS riser form factor

Indeed, I thought that's what I'd said, thanks for the input if it wasn't clearly stated. Not working from the 6500 schematic, was curious is all. Chipping away at the Riser and possible provision for Slot_C by drawing parallels from the Slot_B implementation. Daniël gave me some great feedback...

TwiSlot PCI Riser and ComSlot2 NIC repro in widened CS riser form factor

Once @trag confirmed that Apple took the Reserved pin shortcut to decoding Slot_B Interrupt along with, my initial discovery of Request line bodge to Request on Slot_B on the 6x00 Reserved I was off to a good start I usually study the Block Diagrams: Gazelle Alchemy But that approach...

TwiSlot PCI Riser and ComSlot2 NIC repro in widened CS riser form factor

First, thanks much for translating my diagram into TXT. I'm visual to a fault, needing to see the traces to grok circuits and have great difficulty making myself understood in the forums when limited to TXT. Many years ago at the MLA, I posted a diagram and was encouraged to do so as it helped...

TwiSlot PCI Riser and ComSlot2 NIC repro in widened CS riser form factor

Thanks much. CSII only needs one interrupt signal, which is equivalent to Slot_B on the Apple Riser, where INTA-INTB are tied together and connected to one of the Reserved lines of the PCI spec. Is OHARE documented somewhere?

TwiSlot PCI Riser and ComSlot2 NIC repro in widened CS riser form factor

A little history of this insanity: Riser is same for Alchemy and Gazelle. Nefarious, Appleish Reserved Line perversion of the PCI specification on the undocumented Riser was discovered by myself some five years ago. At the time I was beginning to look into my TwinSlot Riser Project for 6360...

TwiSlot PCI Riser and ComSlot2 NIC repro in widened CS riser form factor

Took the day off to play with the woodworking tools. Soldering/Hot Air Rework Station is shaping up nicely! :D Haven't updated this one to reflect Reserved Pin A11 being wired to all four Interrupt lines yet. B10 and A19 Reserved Lines are hooked up to Request and Grant as suggested by Daniël...

TwiSlot PCI Riser and ComSlot2 NIC repro in widened CS riser form factor

The 6x00 two slot Riser is indeed specific to Alchemy/Gazelle and definitely does weird stuff: https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/three-slot-riser-for-6400-in-search-of-the-mythical-slot-c.31510/post-338992 Apple was involved in the development of NuBus with MIT et al. So of course in...

TwiSlot PCI Riser and ComSlot2 NIC repro in widened CS riser form factor

There it is, "Reserved" Pin A11 of the PCI Spec is defined in the 6500 schematic as Interrupt for Slot_C, or so it would seem! A9 is defined as I buzzed out on the Riser for Slot_B as well. A11 = PCI_SLOT3_INT (7,12,21) A9 = PCI_SLOT2_INT (7,21) Dunno what the numbers mean, but that's...

TwiSlot PCI Riser and ComSlot2 NIC repro in widened CS riser form factor

So why is Riser Slot_B, INTC wired to Reserved_A9? I'm down to only a single reserved line unaccounted for on the motherboard connector. Hoping that'll act in the same manner as Reserved A9 -> INTC does for Slot_B when connected to INTA, INTB or INTD?

TwiSlot PCI Riser and ComSlot2 NIC repro in widened CS riser form factor

Thanks! Toying with the notion of getting CSII converted to PCI on one of the CABLE Risers for laughable playtime later or in the morning. It's on the way to checking out Slot_B conversion on the Riser and then on to Slot_C shenanigans. Still curious how "INTA#, INTB#, INTC#, INTD# wires...

TwiSlot PCI Riser and ComSlot2 NIC repro in widened CS riser form factor

Curiouser and curiouser . . . If interrupt lines are tied together on the logic board, how does this compute? Do all, or only Bridge 3 have Direct Access to Memory Controller? Screenshots from the 1996, first edition of DPCIaDfPMC linked in previous post. Which is devoid of later...

Mythical Slot C in the 6400 Alchemy Architecture & CSII Insanity

Mythical Slot C in the 6400 Alchemy Architecture & CSII Insanity

Closing in just a bit. First step will be setting one of my cable risers up as Slot_B which check board design for my TwinSlot Riser project. Second step will be playing musical signals with the three remaining Reserved Pins on the Logic Board connector. If that pans out and Slot_C is brought...

Mythical Slot C in the 6400 Alchemy Architecture & CSII Insanity

I've got a great start on buzzing the 6x00 riser. Have to recheck my findings, but it looks like nine signals only make it up to Slot A from the motherboard connector. One of which is perplexing, B18 in the PCI Spec is +5V. What gives. my mistake of something AppleFishy?

Best long term solution for powering portables

Very cool stuff. I've been enchanted by the notion of putting the electronics for adapting a 24v Dewalt power tool battery into my work light. A printed case for the electronics in order to slide the battery into like the real deal tool would be better. Came up with the notion when I built a...

TwiSlot PCI Riser and ComSlot2 NIC repro in widened CS riser form factor

I had some PGA connectors in stock so I checked if they'd fit the 6360/5x00 and TAM risers I've been working on. Daniel over at the MLA suggested implementing a PCI device on the 6x00 Riser. Is there a better way than PGA to mount a PCI daughtercard on a riser in a DrawerMac?

TwiSlot PCI Riser and ComSlot2 NIC repro in widened CS riser form factor

Well that may have been ridiculous, but it made a good start for exploring Daniël's notion of implementing a PCI Card on the 6400 riser. Maximized PCB Real Estate study with PGA Prototyping interconnect for development. SATA seems to be the consensus for such things. Looks to be a bit of room...
