    Fix-a-Fork

Relatedly, here’s a great resource for identifying type and creator codes. https://whitefiles.org/dta/pgs/f01_cr_typ_lst.pdf

    Fix-a-Fork

Ok, that’s odd. GEOL is the creator designation for AppleLink. HBSF indicates that it’s an AppleLink package file. That .pkg must have either been downloaded using AppleLink or someone’s system automatically assigned that type/creator combination to an otherwise unknown file.

MacLynx beta 5: now with UTF-8 and even more native controls

This is bringing back so many memories of using MacLynx on my Quadra 700 back in the day. Can’t wait to try it again (on that same Quadra, in fact!)

It was an honour to be part of this film. Noah did a great job pulling together so many different people involved with the Newton.

Web browser for Intel OS X

Very nice. Works great under High Sierra. Will be doing some testing on my older systems as well. Only spotted one small rendering glitch so far. The text overlay in the search box of GitHub’s beta global navigation is a bit wonky.

    Any idea what this is?

Can you identify some of the part numbers on the chips? That might help determine the exact function.

    Einstein, the NewtonOS Emulator

Over the past couple of months, we’ve been fighting with a bunch of renegade edits to the Einstein wiki. I thought that the current version of the page was cleaned up, but I should’ve checked those links prior to copying and pasting. The wiki page has been fixed and I updated the links in my...

    Einstein, the NewtonOS Emulator

I’ve played with it since it was first demonstration at the Worldwide Newton Conference in 2006. It doesn’t require an installer, as the current release has precompiled binaries for Windows, macOS, and Linux. https://github.com/pguyot/Einstein/wiki Matthias Melcher, one of the developers...
