Logic Board - Macintosh Classic Reloaded

I'm working on a BOM and a PnP to go with the Gerbers, that way most of the board can be pre-populated with parts by JLCPCB and you don't have to install the really fiddly stuff.

Logic Board - Macintosh Classic Reloaded

Well, you can tip/donate if you'd like to - JDW's video's have a link on them - but, and i stress this, this was done for the community as a whole, not for financial gain in any way - i'm just happy that my projects have been of benefit to the community! The gerbers and Sprint files will be...

    Macintosh SE Reloaded project

Would be worthwhile just replacing the SIMM sockets outright for new ones from PE Connectors - the original ones with the plastic latches are a bit crap after so many years - you'll be thankful to install new stuff where possible ;)

    Apple 2GS Serial Issue

Yep - pin compatible, the only difference is the fact the current chips are made with the CMOS process, instead of HMOS or NMOS. It's a direct replacement part.

    Apple 2GS Serial Issue

Is it a DIP, or PLCC chip? Because ZiLOG still sell these, new. PDIP: https://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/ZiLOG/Z85C3008PSG?qs=qbjGrYYs%2FskQJuc71lxRTQ%3D%3D PLCC: https://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/ZiLOG/Z85C3008VSG?qs=z96q%2FFFR6qb6cf17DanQqQ%3D%3D

Anyone Else Have an Apple C.A.T. (TechStep Precurosr)?

There's at least 5 PAL's on there that would have to be reversed in order to be able to think about reproducing that NuBus card

Logic Board - Macintosh SE Reloaded

Luckily - with the Classic reloaded - I'm now at the stage where both sides can be pre-populated with most passives and off the shelf components, just needing you to fit the custom chips and RAM.

Ooh I need this. I've been doing hand bending for axial for so long now, it gets tiring after a while.

Identifying and confirming fake 68040 CPUs (especially the L88M mask)

L88M's might be the pinnacle, but the K63H's are good - maybe he has some of them? Also E42K RC33's would be a decent buy.

mac os 10.2 jaguar doesnt boot

Aaaah, OK, it's a Sawtooth (AGP) machine - not a Digital Audio model. OK that helps narrow it down. Looks like the DRAM is fully populated - how much is in there? It should show the capacity on each DIMM - it's possible you may have bad RAM.

Macintosh SE Sad Mac: Bad RAM chip identification possible?

So, if you re-read what i was saying - the faulty one will be in SIMM SLOT 2. You could get a SIMCHECK unit, or something similar - however, the only way you can really test without one, is 'in-situ' using an oscilloscope. If you probe the data and address lines you should be able to see which...

Macintosh SE Sad Mac: Bad RAM chip identification possible?

30-pin SIMM's are 8-bit wide, so, the problem is in one of the right most SIMMs on the board, not the leftmost. so - Slots 2 & 4. Left SIMM is D0 to D7, Right SIMM is D8 to D15. On the SE, there is only one bank, Bank A. Each SIMM uses 1-bit wide chips - from left to right, so in a single...

[Idea] Macintosh 68k Programming Study Group?

Just an idea to throw into the mix - how about a community led initiative as a goal? Ie, people put ideas for a useful program they'd like, that doesn't exist, and everyone has their own go at the idea, posts them, and we pick a winner, and give some sort of accolade or potentially a prize?
