Hello cyberpals, I've been developing an IRC client on and for my Macintosh Plus called Wallops: https://jcs.org/wallops It is being developed on System 6 but should work on newer MacOS versions as well. It requires MacTCP.

I'm going to be using a Mac Plus as a BBS server and would like to be able to turn the CRT off to preserve its life, conserve power, and avoid having a display on in my office 24/7. Would this even work? Can I just put a toggle switch inline with power to the flyback transformer or does...

I would question whether that "Insert Image" is even useful, as the image in your post is huge and has to be clicked on to zoom out of, where as attachments are given thumbnails and it's easier to upload multiple images at a time. Thanks for looking into it.

Testing

I bought it for $100 but I didn't have a projector and beyond the novelty of it, I didn't really have any use for it, so I sold it a few months later (for $199 😬) From my limited testing, the interface was a bit laggy.

I just uploaded a bunch of photos that were taken with my phone and then realized that this forum software doesn't strip out any EXIF data, so all of the GPS info was still stored in them. I manually stripped out the EXIF data and re-uploaded, but I think this is something the forum should do...

Just my opinion, but there are way too many categories and sub-categories. It's overwhelming, it makes it difficult to see new posts without actually following every individual thread, and it makes it harder to know where to post a new topic. I want to talk about networking software on my Mac...
