Voltage tester breakout for Apple Floppy Connector

You should totally sell some of these. I'd buy one.

    Resource Categories

I would like to see a cap guides section for sure, They are spread out all over the place and never complete. RecapaMac has some, powercc has some, Mac84 has 1 or 2, but I can't find them all anywhere. I don't really think a software archive is pragmatic as there are already some out there that...

    Site for NeXTStep software?

Man would I love to have one of those NeXT stations! #jealous! I saw a beautiful NeXTCube at the VCF retro show in Wall, NJ this year that I was inches away from buying but I really want color.

Have you notices the prices of Apple IIs lately?

Lately, I've just been buying and trading with VCF, TD and 68kmla folks. Occasionally, there's an ebay auction that's reasonable. But some of the ebay asking prices are just stupid high. I'm in Central New Jersey so there's a lot of action in this area, not as much as central California though.

iMac Plus First look, What do you think?

I'd really like to see a regular Plus with an LCD and a smaller, flatter PSU without flyback and all the stuff you need to drive a CRT as a working proof of concept. If that could be done successfully, then this project could launch with confidence. You could always leave out the floppy and use...

    68K programming

I think the last time I wrote compilable code was in Think Pascal and the MPW, and that was in the early 90's. I think I still have the excellent "Oh, Pascal" reference book. I still do a bit of AppleScript and Javascript mainly for automation on Creative Suite.

My PowerMac 7100/80 AV Recap Project

Wow, I have never seen black cap juice like that! I don't think I've ever seen a gold Mac Logic board either. I wonder which other models have them. The only other color I've seen are the blue iLamp boards.

    Recommended NeXTStation maintenance

Can you elaborate regarding why you don't care for the CR2032 mod? I was thinking of going that route with the kitty adapters. Or is that even what you were referring to?

Viewing photos requires being logged in - prevents archiving

Couldn't you create a service account that logs in for backups? We do that for some cloud accounts (Box, OneDrive ,etc.) at work that we need to back up locally per industry regulation.

Possibility of complete redesign and modern manufacture of LC-LC475 power supplies

I would love to have some replacements for my two dead LCII PSUs (1 Astec, 1 TDK). I got the re-cap kits but haven't gotten around to recapping. I don't even know if recapping will fix them.

iMac Plus First look, What do you think?

I love it. That being said, I think some serious engineering would have to go into the PSU and the Logic board connection to the LCD. The mechanics of it (wiring, case dimensions, etc.) would be the fairly easy part. Has anyone here wired a Plus logic board to an LCD?

Have you notices the prices of Apple IIs lately?

If you're looking on ebay, everything is overpriced. I see old Macs asking prices crazy high sometimes. And for regular goods, sometimes higher than new.

    What's your restoration 'philosophy'?

I try to restore the machine to it's original glory. Original OS, hard drive, etc. I load the drive with the software that was popular at the time of original purchase. That being said, I do have a few with SCSI2SDs and FloppyEMUs on them. I do retr0brite on severely yellowed cases that look...

What are your vintage grail items?

My holy grail item is a Dash 30fx. Back in the late 80's, I was employee #1 at a company called Cactus. We developed and sold the world's first large format digital printing system. We used 3 Dash 30fx boxes for Imaging/color correction, RIP, and Print. I put a SCSI card in each one and cabled...

    Too many categories

That's good to hear that you guys are tweaking things as we go. To the OP's point, I posted something about a perfect "Bridge" Mac to connect new internet capable systems to older systems via LocalTalk<>Ethernet as well as USB, SCSI, floppy, etc. I wasn't really sure where to put the post though...

    The perfect "Bridge" Mac

I've been thinking about getting a Mac that would be able to bridge an Ethernet port to a LocalTalk port via Vicomsoft SoftRouter, and then I got to thinking it would be nice to have that same Mac be able to bridge SCSI to USB and maybe even IDE/ATA. So I could use this one Mac as a hub for all...
